Oh that's Dwain Price. He's in the same league as Mike Fisher of dallasbasketball.com as in the next time he writes or says something insightful will be the first time he's ever done so. So what if he has a low opinion of the Rockets? Big deal. He's the Dallas version of the Houston sportswriter who doesn't know jack about Dallas teams. While he's right about Yao playing in barely half his allotted games, he's wrong about him not making the Basketball Hall Of Fame because it's the Basketball Hall Of Fame and not the NBA Hall Of Fame. To me Yao falls into the same category as Drazen Petrovic - another guy who made the HOF because he was the player who opened up Europe to the NBA in much the same way that Yao has done for Asia.
Awaiting to hear the real news about this. Surely there is a story to tell? What suddenly brought this on? Y
yeah, aside from the fact you've had one injury after another and couldn't last more than a handful of games on limited minutes, it's completely perplexing, yao.
Took him for granted. Always criticized him for not getting more rebounds. The season when we faced the lakers in the 2nd rounds and while he was out really made me understand how much of an impact he was on the court. hope you fully heal big man
I think HOF is far fetched, but he was my favorite player no doubt. Maybe he will fool us all, and last 6 weeks of the season out of retirement greatest story ever... oh well.. we are the rockets, and we are a center post tradition team. We need to get the best center we can, and Im not sure if that is dwight. would be nice though.
So sad, but finally closure for all the people that left some hope. I guess I was one of those too. We can move on now, with or without the Yao only fans! On a side note the value of our franchise probably dropped 200 mil...Hey Les wanna sell?
Thank you, big fella, for all the great memories. Now hurry up to your family and enjoy life without having to worry about your next injury at last!
That would be incredible. But I doubt it happens. I did wonder for a moment if this was a ploy by Yao and Morey to help the team with capspace to sign Dally or somebody else and then Yao comes back out of retirement. But more realistic is it that he was told by the docs that he would never be able to have full function of his feet and his feet cannot take the pressure without blowing apart. I still rue the Rockets asking him to gain so much weight. Van Gundy helped shorten his career.
Really hope the big fella continues to work with the organization in some capacity. Thank you Yao, for everything.
Shane Battier: Hearing the news about Yao bummed me out today. He's one of the greatest teammates you could ask for and one of the most solid people you could ever meet. I am sad that his basketball potential will not be fully realized and that the world will never know how great Yao really is on the court. I am hope he has peace in his mind. I am excited to see how Yao will continue to positively impact our world. There is no doubt that his best years are ahead of him! Good luck Yao!!! You're still the man! Lowry: I can say I had the chance to play with one of the best players in the world in yao Ming!!
DwainPrice Dwain Price Unless the Rockets bring in a bumper-crop of talent, the record season-low 9 wins the Sixers won in the 1972-73 season is in jeopardy. 2 hours ago This guys an idiot.
this pisses me off: as well as this: and he has a million other tweets about how he isnt hall of fame worthy
It was bound to happen. Those injuries..... damn. What could've been... in his prime he was pretty dominant on the offensive end.
