Sheesh. This place is out of control. Everyone comes out of the woodwork when a guy has a bad game. Let's bash Griffin. How about Steve? Cat? Now it's Rice's turn. Everyone take a deaaaaaaaap breath, sit back, watch for another month and then you can start bickering. 2, 3, 4 games does not make a player, injury or not. This is becoming a b**** BBS.
This will be my last post in a thread that starts with ".........Sucks". Fans in here have no freaking patience.
I third that motion. This BBS is being overrun by b****es. I'm sick of 'em. b**** b**** b**** b**** b****. Is this what you call being a fan? Is this all you want to do here? It's as if fans from other teams took over the place! Hell, fans from other teams would be kinder to our players!
Im right behind you brotha. Dude kicks ass last year and nobody notices. I even heard a lot on this board of how he should get the Comeback Player of the Year award..... Back off of KT, he is rusty, but will come around. Give him some time!!
I don't think KT can play off the bench.. if hes going to be any force in the houston side.. he has to be in the starting lineup.. whether or not he should be in the starting lineup is another thing..
DaDakota, is it worth playing him till he gets in the flow? What if it costs us a game? I agree that Griffin has been crap till the Sonics game, but Griffin is our backup PF as well as our future PF. So his production will naturally improve once he's playing slightly less minutes against slightly weaker competition. Meaning, he will probably dominate other teams' backups, and some starters. As for KT, I suspect it will take another 4 or 5 days before he's labeled "healthy", and by then, MoT will have shaken off a lot of rust. I'm just not sure if I want to take minutes away from any of our SF's, because Rice's style will really open up our offense. I'm afraid KT's style will continue to slow down our offense. In a nutshell: He's not going to be here long. Personally, I don't think he'll be here more than 3 weeks. It would've been nice to trade him. But we didn't and we let him play injured, and he hurt his trade value. In the very near future, when we realize that he's not needed or we simply have no minutes for him, then we'll also realize that we'll have to force him into the rotation, hurt the chemistry, just to trade him.
KT is a very useful instant offense bench player in my opinion, and by no means sucks. I just don't care for him as a starter, but I support his heart, determination and work ethic. Thomas is one of the "glue" pieces of the team, a useful role player who helps with the little things and intangibles.
Kenny is gonna give me a stroke cus evertime hes in there im yelling at the TV and trying not to punch the wall btw, nice of Mobley to start playing the last 50 seconds of the game
KT is in a bad spot. We were depleted by injuries last year and KT received alot of playing time because of it. As a result, he put up pretty decent numbers. Considering that fact that we (eventually), will be deep at both the 3 and 4, I wouldnt expect for KT to get the playing time or the numbers that he did last year. KT was probably understandably upset that the Rockets picked up his option instead of re-signing him to a long year deal. In the end, KT is going to get screwed out of money if the Rockets do indeed allow him to become a FA at years end. Im not blaming the Rockets or blaming KT. Considering our massive depth at the 3, would it be fair to both KT and the other 4 3s on our team if the Rockets were to shop him around? My point in saying all this is, because of KTs contract situation, im concerned KT is going to start harboring animosity as the season progresses when hes not getting the PT and the shots that he got last year. If KT doesnt have the same type of last year, he maybe looking at an MCE instead of a long term contract. If KT is indeed still hampered by that thumb, get him out of there and let someone else pick up the slack.
Why not KT. Last year, when they used him for iso's, he had a higher FG% than Francis and Mobley have ever had. Surely he's the player that should be getting them, if that's the case?
In a few games when (and if) everyone is healthy, who is going to start at the 3: KT or Rice? And how many minutes will each get?
Kenny Thomas is a high-octane and versatile player. He brings hustle and hops and plays 'taller' than his measurements. HE HAS A BROKEN THUMB. Be grateful he's giving a full and resentement-free effort out there while Mo-rijuana T is chilling in the wings.
Hawkins and Rice will split minutes at the 3 it looks like. KT was playing some 4. That'll probably change when MT gets back though...
KT has looked horrible out there this year. Maybe its the broken thumb. Either way, he played great last year; this year he doesn't look inspired. Maybe because he didn't get the extension, or maybe because he's the 3rd string PF. I don't know. He's expendable IMO.
Not just the thumb, but KT's post up moves almost always turns it into a turnover (travel).I don't think Kenny feels welcome in this team IMO.
How does a player get screwed by becoming a free agent? He'll get his market value...what any team is willing to pay for his services. You know, I'm not surprised that he isn't playing so well. After all complaining he did about his contract, and his remarks about how not getting an extension means he can't provide security for his kids on 1.5 million dollars, I think it shows that his character is weak and he'll turn out to be poison. The Rockets were smart not to extend his contract...clearly this will be a test year for Kenny, and the Rockets are thinking of letting him go as a free-agent if he sub-performs. Well, he's off to a nice start to becoming a non-Rocket.
