Francis=PG Iverson=SG If you're trying to compare them, then while we're at it, we should compare Francis to Shaq. this is tough, i dont compare these two at all in a nba game.But there game is very much a like in a 1on1 setting and i really would have to guess.Probabley whoever feels it better,but maybe steve could when from the outside. ------------------
Iverson has the best crossover in the game(he carries a lot though). Stevie's cross is awesome but not quite as good as Iverson's. Iverson's a little more reckless, which is why he has been having injury problems, plus Iverson is an undersized SG. Francis has better athleticism, but Iverson has better defense. Iverson has more of a scorer's mentality, which is why he is so selfish. I think Iverson would win in a game of one on one right now, but in a few years Stevie would probably over take him. Rose would beat Mobley because of expierence and size and strength advantage. Francis would beat KJ because Francis is a better one on one player than KJ was. Shaq would probably beat '94 Hakeem, because Shaq would just post up Hakeem until he is right next to the basket and dunk. But if we were comparing this year's Lakers against the '94 Rockets Hakeem would dominate Shaq in a team game. ------------------ Kobe would be nothing without Shaq.

Iverson v Francis; I have no doubt Iverson would win - Stevies defense is a touch weak at the moment and Allen has had much more time to tough it out and learn to play rough tough NBA defense - about the athleticism... I don't think Francis has much more than Iverson there, it'd be pretty damn close.... Give Francis a couple of years and it'd be a good 1 on 1 95Penny vs Kobe2000; Damnit, I think Kobe would win - although this would be an interesting one... Kemp v Sheed; Kemp - Sheed would get too angry and storm off in disgust.... 93Barkley vs Webber00; Chucky has way better handles then Webber and would probably be able to take him down. Depends on what rules we're using too - if it's under the 94 rules there's no player that can beat Chuck 1on1 because he'll just keep backing them down and down and down and then score from next to the hoop 94Dream vs Shaq00; Shaq has a poor 1on1 game. Dream has SUCH quick hands that he'd be able to steal the ball away from Shaq enough times to give himself more shots and I think they'd both be as good as each other at scoring (but in different ways) - Dream would win. 94KJ vs Francis; Poor KJ - he's a choker... Francis would clean him up J.Rose vs Mobley; I know Mobley loves the 1 on 1 stuff, but Rose is simply too good! He's bigger and stronger and a MUCH better defender and has a well rounded offensive game. He can score in the post or take it in or hit a pull up or hit the set shot.. sorry Cuttino, Rose would smash you ------------------

You guys should all go to the NBA section. The Cat has started an interesting little hypothetical one on one tournament to determine the NBA's best one on one player. I agree with most of the takes here except I think CWebb would beat Barkley. I know Barkley likes to pund it in, but CWebb has his own nastiness offensively and is much taller and probably a fraction quicker, which will be a factor in one on one. Are we playing make-it, take-it, cause some of these players are such offensive machines it might just come down to who gets the ball first. ------------------ Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women!
Chinese, I think Mobley this year could beat Pippen 1 on 1. Cat has the kind of game very suited to one on one, and has the quickness to destroy Pippen when he has the ball. If Cuttino could play relatively good defense and try and keep Scottie out of the post, Mobley would beat Snottie. I saw them go head-to-head in the Summit last season and must say I was surprised how often Iverson could get open for his shot. He is the quickest player in the NBA and can get his shot off on anyone. On the other hand, he is a ball hog and I dont think he could ever carry a team like Jordan did. In this light, I'm glad we have Stevie. ------------------

Mobley would thrash Pippen 1on1 - I don't think Pip's game is very well suited to a 1on1 situation - or should I say his mentality is not suited, he'd just settle for a bad shot and wouldn't force the issue enough. The question should be, who would you rather have on your team. The one on one thing is pointless because none of these guys can be covered one one one. period. Do you think any one single person can stop Iverson or Francis from getting to the hole on a full half court. It would be like having a person covering a one on one on a fast break.
