No ****, man. RM95's Girl and her friend laugh at stuff all the time that they've made little law term jokes out of. Sometimes, I wanna slap them.

Well I won't right now at least. She finds out whether or not she passed the bar tomorrow. I'll give them a reprieve. :)

I hate this, because I'm sure that I'm going to leave people out. The list of people who I *do not respect* because of their political opinions is actually much shorter.

But here's a few people who I think acquit themselves with honor and intelligence, generally:

    madmax
    trader_jorge
    Refman

Incidentally, when I first made my foray into the political wars, I thought that the liberals had an incredible personnel advantage. The conservatives had some bright lights... just not as many. Trader_jorge and Refman have levelled the playing field quite a bit.

    haven--

Thanks for your kind words. I don't recall stridently disagreeing with you all that often. We disgaree sure...your a liberal and I'm a conservative...but it seems you are closer to center than a lot of folks.

Depends on the issue. I tend to dislike labor unions and feel-good approaches to international policy. I also am pro-globalization and free trade.

But on the other hand, I want to cut the military budget in terms of personnel (but not tech investment) and army spending (but not spending on the navy or air force).

I also want to direct huge sums into creating a solar hydrogen economy. I don't believe the free market adequately addresses such question, at all (for various reasons).

I'm probably considered by many here to be anti-religion (although I don't think of myself this way). I am extremely radical on gun control - want handguns banned entirely. I think we should shift entirely to a non-punitive legal system (in criminal and civil matters).

I want free national health care system. I want completely subsidized education, private and public, at all levels (starting with pre-school and extending through graduate school).

See? I am a radical on many issues. I'm just not across-the-board-liberal in my radicalism. And I'm a moderate on many other things. I think Americans generally fail to think, and that popular culture too often settles on compromise for a variety of reasons. Sure, radical view points are most often wrong. But we've created a cult of centrism, now. Clinton didn't start it, but he certainly perfected the art of being non-offensive (and uncreative). Bush is nearly as bad as Clinton.

I try to take care to always respect people who think logically, regardless of political persuasion. Demagogues and followers of the Cult of Centrism suck.

    And jeez... I rambled.

As Jim rome would say..."rack that guy!" :)

Add haven to my list...I agree with him on some things, disagree with him on others...but damn what a good analysis.

There are probably others, because there aren't many BBS posters that I disrespect. But I will read these guys posts all the time. They are usually thought out, and have some sort of rationale behind their opinions even if I disagree with them.

may I change the question in the middle of this masturbation of backslapping and backhanding each other:

"Which Presidents do you disagree with politically, but respect Anyway?"

I am really impressed with the intelligence level of much of the discussion found in here. It can degenerate into name-calling but that doesn't happen too often.

I don't want to name names because I know I'll leave some out. I really do like it when the personal attacks are left aside.

ruin my fun making fun of politics...will ya'

OK...I'll start. I respect Roosevelt, but I couldn't disagree with a President more on politics.

Further, I disrespect Reagan as a President, and have less respect for him as an actor.
