I was wondering if anyone knew anything or had any thoughts about cable and internet service providers around 77054.

I need Internet and cable (which basic would work) and just wanted to see the prices for different bundles.

I was offered 69.99 from comcast for Performance High Speed Internet (15mbps DL with powerboost) and the Digital starter cable with on demand.

I was wondering what you though about this or if you could suggest or point me to any better deals. ATT only offers Uverse Internet at ~45.00 just for the internet service since they do not offer cable here, only directTV (which I cannot have because of satellite's not being permitted).

    Any advice or thoughts?

    thanks

Just try the fish next time. I hear it's even better than the queso.

I dunno, but if you're at the Marriott just piggy back on the Methodist wi-fi, especially since the PAID one at the hotel is crap.

I've lived in the Med center for two years now and haven't stayed with one provider!

I really have no need for cable or phone, so I was looking for only internet. I went with AT&T DSL initially because they were a cheaper option and I was living alone. I don't exactly remember the speed, but it was the 2nd highest tier. As part of a promotion, I paid 19.99 for the first 6 months and around 40 bucks after that. Couple that with a free wireless gateway and I was all set.

My second year, my brothers moved in with me, So I decided to switch to Comcast for the higher speeds. That was my only other option, Uverse wasn't available. I signed up with a promo for just internet for around 40 bucks a month for their Performance package. I had to buy my own cable modem to avoid the $7/month rental charge and a wireless router, but the speeds are fantastic. I know the get a lot of hate, but the service was reliable and consistent, once it was installed. I did have a hard time with customer service because my first bill didn't reflect the promotion I signed up with.

Bottom line is, If you really give a damn about how much you will pay, you should call/chat with a rep and see if you can get in on a promotion. This is especially true for Comcast.

    Hope this helps!
