You're talking about what made Francis an effective player to begin with, but Kyle is an actual PG which means he has almost none of Francis' weaknesses.
Whoa there cowboy... I'm sure he meant it as a good thing and was jus trying to create a new nickname... BTW - Lowry's game and Francis' are not alike at all other than fearlessly driving inside. Lowry is a pass first point guard, every dribble he takes has a purpose (efficient), and he plays below the rim. He’s not athletic and relies more on his innate indicts and basketball intelligence for production. Francis is the opposite. He was shoot first. He loved iso’s (which is not efficient dibbling) and beating his man off the dribble by driving, crossing, or step back jumper. Francis played above the rim and loved to dunk in traffic. Lowry hardly even drunks on open fastbreaks. Also, Francis was not a smart player and always relied on his athleticism to get production and get himself out of trouble.
Exactly what i have been saying. Morey turned AB, someone who we weren't going to keep into a solid back up pg and a 7 footer with potential. He may not have netted us a Franchise player yet, but he knows how to make the most of what he has. Kudos to Morey
Honestly I think Dragic has one of the highest ceilings on the team. To be quite honest, I think he's just a few skills shy of being an all star level player. Unfortunately, I think he's being played out of position: he really should be playing SG. At 6'5, he has great height for the sg spot, and his hellacious D will be better put to use on SGs instead of pgs. Dragic really is more of an SG than a pg, he attacks the basket more often than he creates for others. A couple years of seasoning and he'll be ready to hang with the big boys of the NBA.
In Minny? Considering how badly he played the only person I can think of who will call Johnny Flynn "a beast" is himself.
i agree 100% ... that is an ideal scenario. and even if they are not able to trade one, they still have 3 solid poing guards and that will be a position of strength for the team. it's a win-win, can't go wrong with quality pg's
All I know is that if Ty Lawson (18th pick) and Jrue Holiday (17th pick) can start in this league, then Jonny Flynn can at least become a decent back up. I honestly have high expectations for this kid. I think he'll surprise people and give Lowry a run for his money. As long as he's in the right situation, he'll flourish. Many teams could use a guy like Flynn. Minnesota and him just didn't work well together. Besides Rubio is who they truly want, Kahn probably used that pick for insurance just in case Rubio didn't come and that's exactly what happened. I bet he was thinking that if Flynn's stock was high after 2 years, he could have gotten a decent player back for him. Instead he ended up with Brad Miller. LOL
This baffles the mind because the times he comes down to the RGV he does not look fat. I don't if pictures add ten pounds to the person like being on TV does.
