This summers free agency is less than exciting. Other than a few good players (West and Gasol), there isn't much going on. The two said players have been Rockets favs in the past. How does everyone feel about making a push to bring back Landy and Battier?

Why not? Nothing better on the market. I guess we need another PF like a hole in the head.

I was reading and the grizzles have made an offer to Gasol already.

If we packaged Patterson or Scola away, I'd love to get Landry back.

Shane? Lol no. I'm afraid Captain Softie'll pussify our new guys.

Yeah that's why I was asking why. Also, Battier isn't really the direction we are going at SF either.

If anything I like what they are doing at the small forward position right now with Bud and Morris. Wishful thinking here, but I hope Morris can take Bud's starting job before the season starts. I'm also curious if the 2nd rounder Parsons and Marqus Blakely (6'5" tall, 7'1" wingspan, 36" vertical) can make any noise in the summer league.

    Battier sold his house already.

    I think he's moved on.

And while we're at it...why not bring back Brad Miller?

I love Landry, but we need a 5 not anymore 4's.

Shane is on the D-clyne, and we have some good Bud in H-Town already.

Do a poll, I say No.

We've upgraded the roster with cheaper players with more potential already.

Indeed, and after he said something to the effect that he'd be looking to get back here after the season. Guess after he saw Memphis wasn't a craphole any longer, he jumped ship. The trade came outta nowhere but I'm surprised at the lack of gratitude, after we stuck with all his no-stat games all these years.

The Battier era has passed. If Battier was 27-28 years old then yeah take a look at him. But Shane will turn 33 before the season. His decline isnt as bad as its made out to be, but though he HELPED the team its apparent he doesnt fit into where things are going.

Landry would be a decent pickup if the Rockets don't mind cutting Jordan Hill or another player outright. Or if the Rockets are comfortable in their ability to trade. I'd think the Rockets would just put Morris at PF rather than try to put Landry back in.

How much gratitude do you want from a guy we shipped off in the middle of the season? How is he supposed to show his gratitude? Not sell his house and then call Morey once the season was over and ask if they'll bring him back?

    1. If Mr. Morey signed FAs and traded them away shortly after, it would make Rockets look like an ass.
    2. Battier was not interested in standing in Houston, that why he was traded.
    3. We are heavily loaded in PF. Landry doesn't seem to have much potential in Rockets.

if we let Hayes walk we still have Scola, D-Mo,P-Pat,Hill, Marcus all playing the 4. Anyone we add is going to take minutes from them. I love Hayes but if we are looking toward the future it is better to cut ties with him now. Morey has already hinted as much. If we don't pick a solid center than maybe Morey give Hayes a cheap contract for 2 years. He deserves better but he is an asset on this team.

Considering he said he'd stave off moving, yes, wait up until the end of the season. It didn't take that long for him to sell it. He was already for sale before the playoffs, I think.
