Former U of H player Marcus Cousin on Rockets roster.

    Had no clue this guy was on the Rockets roster. This guy looks like he can play, and can potentially contribute. He's a 7 footer with a turnaround fallaway jumper, in the post (he even showed that he can hit this shot over players bigger than him). he has a nice hookshot, and it looks like he can bang the boards as well and block shots. He looks like he is hungry and can actually play. Rockets should give him the Ishamel Smith/Chuck Hayes when he was an undrafted rookie treatment and hold on to this guy if he can play like this on an NBA level and continue to work hard. This guy's youtube videos make Jeremy Tyler's highlights look like a piece of ****. I understand that his college numbers are nothing to wow over, but Deandre Jordan did not exactly put up amazing stats across the board in college either. Cousin could be a Wesley Matthews type find if he can do this at a professional level. Or he could be another Amir Johnson D-league All Star turned NBA bum if someone gives him a shot. Hope the latter does not happen if given a chance.

    there's too many players on the roster. he won't make it unless there's a trade that frees up a spot.

    Marcus Cousin was signed for the summer league roster and training camp. Someone to compete against the other center hopefuls (Thabeet, Hill and now DMo). Since the others have guaranteed contracts, one of them will have to go, in order for Cousin to make the roster.

    If Chuck Wagon does not resign, that would be another possibility for Cousin to stick.

    Thus, Cousin is a long shot to make the final 15.

    Can't he serve as non-guaranteed cap fodder if we are a few hundred thousand short on a proposed trade?

    Having watched him at UH, I don't see him sticking in the NBA. He's got height, though, so he'll get a decent chance to prove me wrong.
