Why? We've got Marcus Morris, Budinger, and Parsons at the three already. I'd throw in Williams for a pick.

I haven't given up on Hill, yet, but Biedrins has, at least, already proven himself. I'd take my chances getting a guy back into shape, still young, than a guy who's been just flashes.

    T. Williams might explode in GS, but, really, our 3s are already solid.

agreed, hayes and biedrins would be a fearsome defensive combo, but hiding both of them on offense would be a challenge

Jordan Hill is passable at center for a backup at best.

Why do they want that guy? Dude has averaged 5 ppg the last two seasons.
Dude has been garbage most of his career. It's better try to mold those two guys than trade for this guy.

Dude has been garbage last two seasons. At 22, he was pretty good and showed potential before injury setbacks.

Seriously... He's a 7 footer who actually plays down low unlike the last three 7 footers we have had other than Yao (Miller, Anderson, and Motiejunas)

Throw in either Flynn or Dragic and see if they can throw in a first rounder for next year

Desperation leads to regret. If he can bounce back, good luck to him and GSW.
    No thanks.

Thabeet/Hill for Biedrins does not feel like a desperation move to me. If we were able to pick up biedrins, that would allow us to sign one C and suddenly have a very formidable 5.

Who's crazy enough to offer more than that at the beginning of a negotiation? Warriors are trying to get rid of a big contract. They have to pay for that...offer low...then worst case scenario, Rockets get rid of a significant piece but maybe get a first rounder out of the deal.

Morey knows the offer is ridiculous...he just wants more than Biedrens.

Hill and Thabeet may be useless, but he isn't any good anymore. He is fool's gold now,and will take up salary cap room which will prevent us from signing FA's.

 What do you mean, "it would allow us to sign one C" ?

We wouldn't clear any money to sign a free agent center.

And yes, trading for Biedrins, whether you're sold on the move or not, is desperate.

That's kinda what we are though. Desperate for a center.

Biedrins for whatever reason hasn't produced the last two years and therefore, as of right now, is no more than a below average center.
He may turn it around and Morey may believe that he will, but it's far from certain.

Given his lack of production, trading for him is a (big) risk and certinaly would be desperate.

It may be a turn out great like it did with Tyson Chandler in Dallas, but it could also go horribly wrong (though we thankfully won't run the risk of being crippled by him, thanks to having an amnesty clause, in case of need).

If anything though, IMO Golden State should be the team that's adding something of value.

biedrins is terrible and is overpaid but at this point i would toss in chase to make hill and thabeet work just because we need what biedrins does well on the court so badly

    lowry/goran/flynn
    martin/lee
    morris/williams
    scola/patterson/
    biedrins/hayes/d-mo/yao

i would be fine with that lineup to be honest.

I doubt that Morey would trade Hill and Thabeet just for Biedrins, I also doubt that the Worriers would not take Hill and Thabeet just for Biedrins.

I think there is more to this deal, something that Morey wants from the Worriers and they are not willing to give away yet.

    Hopeful thinking, yeah?

He's 25 years old. We're not talking about an over the hill Brad Miller here.

It does . . . subject to the following:

Biedrins's contract would severely hamper the Rockets' cap situation if (a) they held onto Martin and Scola (they might not), (b) the cap rules remain relatively the same (they probably won't), (c) existing salaries don't get rolled back (they could be), and (d) existing contracts remain fully guaranteed (they probably will, but it's not certain).

If any of those things change, the answer could be affected. Still, that's NOT a good contract. And the Rockets don't really have any truly "bad" contracts of not-so-useful players to swap for another one attached to a useful player like Biedrins.

(I really do like Biedrins as a "fifth starter" who can rebound and block shots. Salary aside, he'd be a great fit on this Rockets team. Unfortunately, the salary issue is a big one.)

I have been able to at least "understand" every move Morey has made since being the GM. I have questioned him at times, most recently passing on Leonard for Morris, but have always felt that at least I can see where he's coming from.

Wanting Biedrins though, I can't see it. It's one thing if Biedrins just sucked. But with his contract and injury history, I can't see it. I know the Rockets are desperate, but I this is a risk I can't understand. Especially since the CBA is still up in the air.

Also, I'm almost, almost capable of understanding getting Biedrins for nothing but expiring salaries. But to offer GS anything of substance IMO is overpaying. So I hope this is the Rockets final offer. Maybe they can throw a 2nd round pick or something. But nothing more.

I doubt this deal is dead

We might even sweeten the deal, with a pick

Thabeet could be a long term project, Hill, meh...the guy plays decent one night, the other he's really poor

I am just glad Morey is getting rid of 'assets' we don't need

first Miller, next Thabeet and Hill
