Sorry no editing. Meant to say @ $9 million per year and he put up the stats 2 years ago.

Not for Biedrins. He would for other centers around the league. In a heartbeat.

Thats a fair offer. I proposed something similar, but added Dragic. We are taking on tons of risk by adding an expensive, and broken piece.

The main selling point for GSW is they save 2 years and about $20 million. That's big savings for a small market team.

Why is everyone so enamored with Asik.

    - The guy isn't athletic or known for his defense.
    - He literally takes 1 - 2 shots a game, but plays 12 minutes.
    - He is a terrible FT shooter

I feel like he had a few good games against the Rockets or someone on this forum saw him and liked him. Since then, people are just like wow he is the real deal.

We wouldn't do that from a talent standpoint. Scola should get us much more than Biedrins. And the Warriors wouldn't do that from a fit/financial standpoint. Between David Lee and Scola, you're asking them to invest $100M+ over the next five years in two guys that cannot co-exist.

My guess is that the Warriors only refused this offer because they think they can throw in Biedrins' contract in with an Ellis trade down the line. Maybe they can get something in return for him instead of a pure dump.

He cant stay healthy. He's played a combined 92 games in the last 2 seasons. He has an awful free throw shooter. I wouldn't risk trading Lee, Budinger or Dragic b/c his health is a concern. Hill & Thabeet + picks would be a fair trade, IMO.

He's saying that a Biedrins/Scola frontcourt would be okay with him. I don't think he was implying that we trade him.

    Missed the playoffs?

He did pretty well in the time he was given. Didn't put up big stats but numbers don't tell the whole story.

People forget the fact that he just turned 25 in April. When he was 23, he was putting up 12 pts, 11 rebs, 1.5 blks, and 1 stl a game for playing only 30 minutes. That is very impressive. That's actually DHoward lite right there. At 3 years and $9 million per year, you won't be able to find a better bargain.

The good thing is we made the offer and GS turned it down. Now, if GS wants to revisit this trade, it'll cost them more. ; ) ; )

Dat's da way we roll, baby. Moreyball.

His injury concern is a fair point. However, we have to take risks. We have too many players that are weak starter/6th man types and we don't have a true center on this team that can defend the paint and block shots. Budinger is definitely replaceable. Dragic is replaceable as well, since Lee can play some PG and we just got Flynn, who should turn out to be an adequate back up PG. I would love to keep Lee, but TWill, Bud, and Dragic can all play back up minutes at the 2, so it's not really a problem for me either.

I'd go Dragic, Hill, and Thabeet for Biedrins and a 2013 unprotected 1st.

What? Do you even watch basketball? This guy was a BEAST in defense as a ROOKIE. As a matter of fact, he was known for his defense. He's not as athletic as some, but he's definitely athletic enough. Yes he played 12 min per game, but he got what...close to 5 rebs in that time? That's amazing. Go watch a bulls game and you'll know why you just made an insanely incorrect comment.

Great trade by Morey if he can get this, the offer was actually much lower than what I thought Morey would offer. Classic Morey lowball.

On the other hand, I'd add in a Budinger or a Dragic or a Flynn to complete the deal. Thatbeet and Hill are worse than 2nd round picks in terms of value.

DraftExpress: Omer Asik is a monster. What a defensive clinic tonight. The guy is an absolute warrior. And this is only his first season in the NBA? Wow.

DraftExpress: Effort level by Omer Asik and Taj Gibson was off the charts. Those guys move their feet like guards. Makes a huge difference defensively.

    Asik serves and protects
Reserve center's high motor, defensive awareness have made him invaluable

So much so that Thibodeau more consistently and comfortably is using the defensive-minded rotation of Asik, Brewer and Taj Gibson in fourth quarters. Thibodeau even confirmed after practice Friday that he would have kept riding that lineup had Asik not been forced to exit Game 2 with 4 minutes, 36 seconds left to receive stitches in his chin.

Brewer said his first memory of Asik is that he ran like a guard while defending.

"We've had spurts where he's been one of the best players on the court defensively," Brewer said. "He's active on the offensive rebounds too. To see him excel in the playoffs is not surprising. Omer and Taj have been doing that all year. They're just on a heightened stage. That's what we expect out of them."

Warriors need a back up PG. I would trade Flynn, Hill, and Thabeet for Biedrins. Then the roster would look like this.

    Lowry/Dragic
    Martin/Lee
    Budinger/Morris/Williams/Parsons
    Scola/Patterson/Hayes
    Biedrins/Motiejunas
