With all the guys we drafted what is the point of keeping him? With him playing center the other team was basically getting layups. His offense was much improved, but he is like shane battier, a missing piece, not a building piece. I think giving a guy like him MLE money on a rebuilding team is foolish.

Yeah, I think so. I want the Rockets to retain Chuck, but with all these 4s added and Morey's supposed interest in Andris Biedris, It's not looking good for the Chuckwagon. But, I would love to see him on a contending team. And I'm sure Contending Teams will be interested.

Depending on how the new CBA is, Hayes could be a bird exception. If Motie gets PT early, someone will need to rebound. It really depends on the moves Morey makes before the season. Hayes would be a good backup 4/5.

    We drafted guys.

Get rid of everybody and rebuild.

Would be stupid not to bring back Chuck. Chuck is a guy who should play anywhere between 20-25 minutes depending on the matchup. This team needs his leadership, work ethic, heart and most importantly...DEFENSE. Which this team is lacking the worse way. Watch the defense drop if he's gone.

i think its best for him to go to a team that can win now. if he stays he won't even get to the playoffs, let alone a championship.

the rockets need to give minutes to the young guys. you can only develop so much in practice. they need to be thrown into the fire and experience real game situations to truely improve. playing chuck ahead of them is sacrificing the teams future in order to win a few extra games that won't get us to the playoffs anyway.

If we want to go to the playoffs than theres no way he will be a center standing 6-6

We'll probably offer him 3-4 mil and he'll just move on.

I love the guy and wish he could retire here, but Morey does not handle 'assets' like that.

I see Hayes being resigned. He's our best defender & can instill that into the neebies. We need his vet leadership. Otherwise we'll be in the same spot Minny is, all youth & little vet leadership.

you would rather stunt the growth of younger much more promising players to give minutes to chuck just because you want him to retire here?

if you love him, and we all do, then you need to be happy for him to move on to a team that can contend for a championship now rather than spending his prime playing for a team that can't make the playoffs.

chucky is a proven player...I don't see a problem playing him with another center or at least bringing him as the number 2 center...

however, you are right, he definitely deserves to be on a championship contender during his prime...

I hope so, for Chuck's sake, he deserves to play on a contender.

Keep the Chuck Wagon! He is still young and will still be young when the Rockets are contenders. A great individual defender and a very good passer. I don't wnt him starting but would love to have him coming off of the bench.

I go both ways...I would like to see him stay because he showed heart and soul when he played last season, but yet he also deserves a ring so i would like to see him on a contending team. I love my rockets i just dont see them contending this yr

I hope so for Chuck as well. He would be nails for the Lakers, Spurs, Knicks, Heat, Celtics and Bulls. And hoping some team pays him some big bucks.

I would propose some sort of sign and trade with Chuck going to the Bulls as part of some sort of package for Asik. Just a thought.
