it just makes me sick to hear everyone in here talking about scola as if he is not even on the team no more. He is such a good player in my eyes, he embodies everything a fan would love to see in a player and here ppl are just so easy to say that he should be traded for whatever reason. If we intend to contend Scola would be one of the main pieces bc of everything he brings, mentally mostly. I really like all the love he was getting in the press conference. Donatas talked about how his idol was scola, that is for a reason ppl. I dunno im just a die hard Scola fan who would like to keep him here no matter what. You can say whatever you want about making room for young players or his contract or his age or the situation of the team but to me he is a keeper. I hope he retires with the rockets.

Very good use of Scola and defense in the same sentence.

Guys like you don't understand that this organization does not believe in rebuilding all the way like the Clippers and teams like that. This organization wants to compete every year and the way you do that is to have veteran guys on the team, just look at what the Spurs and Mavs have done. Scola will be Rocket Lifer and you need to get over it because he not be traded.:)

If McHale can put some defense into him, he's a keeper. That's it, really.

Scola is a total keeper if you want to win now. If you want to tank you have to get rid of him asap. He won't give up.

Hayes and Scola are like having coaches on the floor. They are the guys who set the tone for the Rockets being one of the hardest working teams in the NBA. They are the role models for the new guys.

I love Louis Scola's game, his hustle, his veteran leadership and his contributions to our team. But we are desperate for a defensive presence in the middle in order to take the next step up as a team, and you have to give something to get something. Because we didn't draft a center, we either need to pick one up in free agency (no luck with this the past 2 years so not looking likely) or trade for one (imo, the more likely scenario).

If we trade for a center, we obviously need to match salaries and/or use a trade exception. Knowing this and the fact that Scola now has a big contract, I think there is a strong potential that either Scola or K Mart (our two biggest contracts) gets moved next year. If you look at the fact that we drafted 1 PF (D Motieunas); 1 Combo 4/3 (M Morris) in the first round I think the signs are pointing to L Scola being the more likely to be moved in trade for a center. Just my opinion.

So you would still keep Scola even if we can get Josh Smith for him? ...Idiotic. He's good on offense and down right beautiful but his defense and trying to box out blows more then a gay guy. Scola is good but he isnt star quality good.

Scola is a good player. Patterson is very close to being a better player already. Morris, Motie, and Hayes are cheaper. Rockets need a SF and a center more than they need Scola, but I wouldn't trade him for less value.

If we plan on contending? I think it fair to say that barring a miracle like acquiring Dwight Howard for a bag of chips, by the time we're contending again Scola will likely not be a factor.

Scola is meant to be the energy guy on a championship team. I hope they find a winning deal for the team and for Scola. Send the man somewhere that he'll play for a championship, get more picks/talent for the Rockets, free up playing time for the young guys, and of course worsen our record and get better picks.

Never got why someone who loves contact on the offense, who finishes when being bumped, who love dishing out bumps, who has the best footwork in the league sucks at defense?
I still think if the refs allowed him to give the same amount of contact as he is receiving down low when he's on offense, then he would be an average defender.
He is a leader. If we want Dmo to be the greatest thing out of lithuania since Arvydas, then scola must be kept to mentor him. Where would Luke have ended up without obi wan?

jejejejejejejejejejejejedjeje in the defense of scola jejejejejejejejeje.

i love scola...but he is nearing the end of his career, so if we can use him to get solid talent...i don't see why not...i want him to retire a rocket tho...oh the decisions to be made...
