EG is 6'10, he's 20 so got room to grow. He's already a better d player than RJ. EG blocks better, rebounds better, more of a presence on the court than RJ. RJ is good. He'll keep getting better with Kidd running the show. Look at KMartin... he sucked before Kidd got there. Now KMartin will probably be a all star caliber player. The same goes for RJ, with Kidd he's an all star caliber player. Without him, he'll just be another athletic small forward with potential. I would much rather have EG. Give him 3 solid years in the league, He'll be right up their with Webber, Wallace, and those guys. :D

No, Eddies' lack of offensive skills(dribbling, post up, turnaround j, etc...) is what's slowing his development.

Francis however, is responsible for the lack of progress on the deficit, soaring inflation, and the war on terrorism though.

I say we cut him and promote Tito. We're finalsbound for sure then.

You are kidding right. Jefferson could likely end up the best player to come out of that draft. Either him or Gasol.

I agree. Plus like everyone has already said you can't rule out the impact Kidd is having on Jefferson's career. How good would Jefferson look if it was Marbury throwing him passes instead of JKidd?

Jefferson wont even be the best playeer of his style to come out of the draft. Jason Richardson is.

I would take Jefferson. He is a better scorer and a great defender. But the bell just rang at school, so I've gotta go home. :)

I suppose RJ is going to be the best player in his draft because he has some of the sickest dunks?

EG is prolly not gunna be the best player out of the draft or anything, but he be ballin against he WEST, and not the SF, but last year he used to play PF most the time.

and RJ was playin the 2 in the EAST off the bench behinf kittles

PAU GASOL is the best player out of the draft:eek:

Gasol has picked it up so far this season in virtually every category from his solid ROY year. Averaging over 22 shooting .650+, blocking, rebounding, playing solid D. Don't know if you watched the Spurs/Memphis game but he played very solid and after the game Duncan noted how tough the guy was. He's also bulked up. So yeah'll I'll take Gasol.

Oh yeah and that's with a bonehead like Williams for a point guard.

This is getting ridiculous. EG is in a funk. Players get into cold streaks just as easily has hot ones and sometimes they last (like hot streaks) for a couple of games.
RJ is a good player, but athletic 3s are a dime a dozen. If you can get yourself an athletic big then you are talking about something special. GMs gamble on big men every year, hoping that they will pan out (see Stro Swift and Kandiman). If EG doesn't get any better then the gamble didn't work out, but CD and Rudy still made the right decision. EG will get better if only because he gets bigger. Give Eddie a chance to actually play for a bit in the L before we start to question him as a player or as a pick.

Right...he dunked his way to 39 points last night. He has a decent, and improving shot. He plays solid and improving defense. He grabs his fair share of boards and dishes out a solid number of assists. He has averaged more steals, rebounds, assists and points than Jefferson. He hasn;t shot the ball quite as well, but has outperformed Jefferson on his 3 pt range. And I think he has more potential for upside. That's just me though. I think both are excellent players and @ 6-6/6-7 would be awesome starting SF for the Rockets right now. I believe EG will continue to improve and will always be the better defensive player of the group (a goup defensive big man is always better than a good defensive guard/SF), but I will withhold on wether or not I think EG will ever be as good as Jefferson/Richardson are now. I certainly believe he can, but it will requrie even more post practice, and, more importantly imo, learning how to actually dribble, cause you have to do that in the post as well.

Ha I knew this thread would pop up after the last game. I think Griffin has just been a victim of Rudy's offense. He's not Robert Horry and he shouldn't be shooting set shots from 20 feet. Get him in the damn paint and tell him to stop that fadeway nonsense Go to the hole young man!

Personally, I like Eddie, but if I owned the Rockets and already had KT and Mo T, I would have kept Jefferson.

    Today...Jefferson is better
    Tomorrow...depends on Eddie.

Will EG learn to dribble? Will EG become a better shooter?

    Those are big questions.

i didnt read every reply in depth but did anyone mention the fact that jefferson still had 2 more years of college experience than griffin did. griffin has a great potential but he still needs more time to polish his skills. so i would take griffin over jefferson any day.

however i think jefferson is a better fit for the nets who are trying to win now. jefferson is more polished and griffin is simply going to take more time to develop.
