Glad we got this kid he's already cool wit kyle gonna love seeing a nice alley 4rm those 2..you gotta love this kid he compares his game to melo (bully ball) thats swag right there
You are absolutely wrong about PP. There was recent report on the Rockets needs, and one of the positions discussed was PF. Same report stated that Patterson could START for many NBA teams now. Can't find the link, but I am sure many of my fellow fans saw the same thing.
Where were those leadership skills against Virginia Commonwealth and Northern Iowa? I did see him a cry alot though. If the Rockets wanted a 3, they should have taken Leonard. The Rockets don't need more scoring they need a guy that stop other teams from scoring at will. Morris will get abused by NBA 3's
Low blow with the UNI, VCU comment. Look at what those teams did over the course of the season though. Without looking it up, I[m pretty sure both of those teams lost only 3 games the entire year. In college basketball, that's pretty rare. Especially after losing Sherron Collins, Xavier Henry, and Cole Aldrich. The twins stepped up in a huge way at Kansas. Look, he didn't play much on the perimeter. He did more towards the second half of the season and had great success doing it. When he realized he could drive, it become a huge asset to his game. His ball handling skills have improved and he can get his shot off pretty much on anyone (he didn't miss much either). His turnaround jumper from the baseline is sweet. Seriously, it's automatic (dream shake-esque). There's always been talk about whether he is a 3 or a 4, he convinced me last season that he could be successful at either spot. Depends on the match-up he gets. He'll be able to take advantage of a lot of players, he can do it all.
Read this, the guy covered KU sports in Topeka during all of the Morrii years and just moved to Houston. http://www.foxsportshouston.com/06/...nding_rockets.html?blockID=534627&feedID=9719
His brother is a bit bigger, better rebounder, but less polished offensively. Doesn't have quite as good of a shot and can't handle the ball like Marcus can. Marcus is a smarter player too. There's no question Marcus was a better player in college, will that translate to the NBA, I would think, but I can't be positive.
Just like ku30 I have followed both the Rockets and Jayhawks all my life. Marcus will be a nice addition and I can see him getting time at both the 3 & 4. The comments about VCU and UNI are a low blow, he put up 20 & 10, and frankly I'm suprised a UT grad would know leadership is with the teams the put out each year.
Good enough to that Gayhawk twin ass in Lawrence this year. Two years #1 seed gifted easy paths to final. Two years where the Morris twins are crying like little babies in the locker room after losing to crappy teams they should have beaten by 20+. Tell me, did Marcus and Markieff go get the their pellet guns after those losses and start shooting at people again?
You guys won a game in Lawrence would you like a trophy? I can see you are still upset that Rick didnt teach your team how to count to five or call a timeout.
PP definitely showed flashes of someone capable of being a starter, especially considering it was his rookie season. I'm not saying he WILL be a starter, but he could be. Way too early to dismiss that possibility. Also, as for the comparison, I think Pat is probably a better rebounder and defender -- a more traditional big man, I guess.
Let me know the next time a Gayhawk player actually does something in the NBA coming out of Self's program. Chalmers, Aldrich, Rush, Arthur, Wright, Jackson, Simien, Henry, and Kaun = a crap load of bad NBA players. The Morris twins will be 2 more.
good college career. i'll give him that. not great. but ok. Just don't see KU being that talent rich machine it used to be in the past. frankly, they are disappointing when it comes to harvesting NBA level players as of late. So he should fit right in with Rockets
