    Anyone heard of a Celebriduck?

The Rockets will be doing three Celebriduck promotional nights this year including:

Dec 27 - Moochie Norris Celebriduck
Feb 2 - Yao Ming Celebriduck
Feb 14 - Steve Francis Celebriduck

    What is this thing?

Its not even funny! Such a disgrace for our athletes to be depicted in such a demining manner. It might be quite offensive to Chinese to see Yao Ming pictured as a duck!

The company that makes them suckered the Rockets into getting them by telling them, "these will be bigger than bobbleheads!"... they fell for it, hook, line and quacker....

or it was mandated by the NBA!?

I agree those things are stupid, ridiculous, preposterous!

I'll probably be on Ebay buying them.

Funny you say that. It will. How can it not? Can't let that 'do get wet.

By the way, we did a Celebriduck night during Comets season for Sheryl Swoopes. The typical reaction: (1) it's very bizarre, (2) I think it's kind of cool in a weird way, and (3) I want one. Fans were fighting over them. Sheryl ordered an extra carton for herself beyond her usual allotment because of the requests she was getting.

We also had very good attendance that night.

Ask me why they work, and I probably can't give you a rationale answer. Ask me if they work -- yes, they do.

(By the way, the Iverson duck in Philadelphia was one of the biggest promotional nights they had in years, and they do a lot of big promotional nights.)

Someone remember to search eBay 1-2 days after the first Yao Ming or Steve Francis celebriduck promo. That could explain at least some of the fan attendance spike. :)

I'm with Tim on this. Can't explain it, but if it works, it works...

The Rockets should come up with a Promotional Night Season Ticket Package...

I tell you what, I don't really want one, but I am going to get all three celebriducks... just to have them!

So that's like a mini-mini season ticket package!!

If the **** looked faintly like Yao Ming? Hmm... that'd be kinda diffierent. Alright, i'm intrigued.

Seriously though, I really want me one of those Duck things. Stay out of my eBay way. I've also been trying to decipher all the various Yao Ming rookie card madness on eBay, but it's too damn confusing.

Can anyone just tell me: what is THE most desirable Yao Ming rookie card out there? (And no, I don't believe it's the one you have to sell.)
