Rockets are offering cash for early second-round draft picks

Landry and Budinger worked out well. Llull could end up working out too.

 

I'd be thrilled with JaJaun Johnson, Giorgi Shermadini, Jimmy Butler, Jeremy Tyler, Keith Benson, or Darius Morris. I would also be happy with Chandler Parsons, Jon Leuer, or Bojan Bogdanovic.

 

Boozer, Scola, Big Ben, Arenas, Haslem, Okur, Steve Blake, MoWill, Korver, Varejao, Ariza, Hayes, Monta Ellis, David Lee, Gortat, Millsap, Landry, Big Baby, Gasol, Sessions, DeAndre, Asik, Dragic, DeJuan, Meeks, Thornton, Bud, Fields, etc

And those are just the established ones that you know will have long careers, that's not even counting some other guys like Jamario Moon who are clearly first round talent that fell far.

 

Yep.

Which is why I think the Rockets will move up.

That's the only scenario in which why they'd want to buy picks.

Because as you say, and as we know, the Rockets have pretty much a full roster, and adding 3 picks is futile

 

This is why I love Les Alexander and the Rox FO: they spend money on the right things. Hopefully we get some 2nd round picks to stash some euros or other guys who will slip in this draft. And believe me, somebody always slips to the 2nd round.

LOL DD, why you hating on buying draft picks? You complain about Les Alexander being cheap, then you complain about him spending cash? As to your query, I got two words for you: Marc Gasol. I also got Dejuan Blair, Ben Wallace, Marcin Gortat and Deandre Jordan.

 

They may also be packaging some of our talent for pick upgrades. Rather than trading the 14th and 23rd to get 10th, might be trading Lee+23rd to get 8th or something.

 

Scola's a second rounder who panned out well too.

That's only because they don't watch the games. Anyone who actually does could tell you that Colorado would handily defeat Manchester United in a two-leg match. Don't you know anything?

buying 2nd round picks can really work out. We seem to have a good track record with 2nd rounders, and stashing Euros for cheap with first-round talent (especially with the lockout looming) seems like a smart move.

 

Getting Bogdanovic with a second rounder would be a very good gamble. Second round picks are never a sure thing, but he is very skilled and I believe has the potential to eventually start.

 

I like how this guy makes such decisive statements about players he's literally never heard of or seen play. Quite the display of intellect, lmao.

Anyway, I dunno why nobody is talking about Mack as a possible pick, he seems like a high risk/reward guy.
