You can ask LeBron the same question. He had the highest PPG decline from regular season to finals in NBA history. Maybe choking is contagious.

Bibby's legs are done = horrid defense and absolutely no offensive creativity.

I miss the days where he was the deadliest pick-and-roll shooter in the game.

I agree with the Hinrich suggestion. But I think Miami needs a shot-blocking center more than anything.

The Heat would be worse off. With Wade/LeBron in the back court, Parker's effectiveness would be marginalized.

They are not trading any of there big 3.
Here is the background to it...

"Riley stressed he will move forward with the same core that delivered the Heat within two victories of the franchise's second championship, namely with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh"

nlike the unabashed optimism of last July, when James, Wade and Bosh were signed, Riley this time offered somewhat tempered enthusiasm moving forward.

"I'll say it, I'm not afraid to say it, we're going to be multiple contenders," he said. "I have no problem saying that, OK? We will contend. And that's all it's about."

Ultimately, Riley said the disappointment of the Finals should not overshadow what is in place.

"The greatest thing in the history of South Florida sports," he said, "was those guys coming together, with the exception of (undefeated 1972) Dolphins, maybe.

"I know what everybody expected here, but it didn't happen, but we had a great season, almost unprecedented, actually.

"I can't wait for next season."

Just out of curiosity, why are you a such a diehard fan of the Heat? Do you have roots in Dade County?

LOL the Heat's roster isn't so bad. They still have the big 3, Joel Anthony, Haslem and Mike Miller, who should be healthier after another summer of recovery.

Chalmers is indeed a FA however which team will overpay him? Its not like he tore through the NBA finals like a demon and averaged 30 pts. With the amazing amount of pgs in the L, its not like pgs are at a premium. What will overpaying him amount to? I simply can't seem him make more than 3M a year.

I agree with CH, get rid of the deadwood who didn't perform and get some young fresh legs in there. Big 3 and Haslem are all you really need when it comes to experience, you just need other guys who can be placeholders and give LBJ/Wade some rest.

Someone will overpay on Chalmers - there are several teams desperate for a young PG who can knock down shots and plays some defense at times. I don't know about giving him starter type money because I think he is a little too knucklehead to run a team, but I can see him being a bench guy for a team like LA.

The problem is Hinrich is too expensive. ATL needs to take back salary and the only ones that would work-- Haslem, Miller, Anthony are either needed by the Heat or have sucky contracts.

Pat Riley's front offices need to work hard to find some cheap FA and late draft pick gems.

Brooks? No need to play-make, just provide scoring and sound ball handling.

Lowry+fillers for Wade+Bosh, and don't take no for an answer.

They sure did make several teams' defenses look overrated throughout the playoffs.

Anthony is a shot-blocking center. They could use a center that can rebound and contribute something offensively.

There is only one ball to go around that's going to be a problem with any third wheel.
TP could still get his 17 points during the periods that the crynamic duo is taking a breather or whenever lebaby takes a 4th qtr off.

I don't know. Good point guards have to have the ball, maybe what the heat need is another shooting guard to fill the starting line up..or just trade lebron.:p

Heat should just draft an old shooting point guard like Noland Smith or Shelvin Mack. They don't really need a good one. Just play some defense, dribble the ball upcourt and hit some open jumpers. Mack and Smith can do these things.

Thats right. They could easily find what they need early 2nd round if they draft carefully.

Looking at the draft, Shelvin Mack would fit in nicely. Scoring point guard, tough, older, experienced.
