olajuwon to coach YAO i think olajuwon should get a job to coach YAO. that would be the best thing for him. does anyone think that has a chance of happining? i mean he could be an assistant coach or just get payed a little bit to train him personally.
you had to start a whole new thread for this? This topic seems to come up in every other Yao Ming thread. While, I do agree that yao could learn a lot from Olajuwon, I don't think Hakeem would be the best teacher. There would definitely be a language barrier, and Hakeem seems too reserved and timid to be an effective coach for Yao. I think we need more of a firey guy to get in there and demand fundamentals and game discipline. Not because Yao needs it, but it's always a better way to leearn. Then maybe Hakeem could come by periodically and tell Ming a little of this and a little of that.
bad thread title. you make it sounds like news, rather than a question. imo, you are starting too many new threads. try talking to others in their threads. you'll make friends around here faster that way.
Changed title from "Olajuwon to coach YAO" which freaked me out... to "Olajuwon should coach YAO" which only perturbs me a bit 'cause it's been discussed ad nauseum.
DUDE YOUR READIN MY MIND!! i was thinkin the exact thing while i was watchin the Raptors and when i saw that ewing is coaching washingtons big men
i dont see why people in here are rude im sorry u took it the wrong way i just sit on the site when theres no rockets game or i dont have to work .
Yeah but you get posted new threads, when people get annoyed bu it. A ccouple days ago I made 3 posts in one day, a moderator said that I was posted to many threads, and I stopped. That is what you should do.
ill cut back alot on my threads ive been wanting ot get on here for a while and just got interent so i got a little excited ive been a rox fans for years... back to the point ewing gets to coach the wiz hopefully hakeem could in the future\ go rox
It can be pretty easy to get excited and go crazy, posting new threads. I forgive you, since I've done the same thing before.
As a general rule, most star players don't make good teachers or coaches. Before you sounce on me, remember I said MOST!!!! The overachieving, had to bust butt to achieve some success player become better coaches; because they had to overcome more obsticles. Hakeem was a natural athlete who led be example rather than get in your face prodding. In other words, Hakeem could do it, but not teach it. IMHO
no prob its cool man my fault anyways... i wonder what hakeems plans are after he retires. i know that he'll live here in houston i know that much
YAO1134, There's really no problem with your thread other than it had been brought up several times in the past. You really can't know that, I suppose (unless you do a search!). We're trying to cut down on repetitive and redundant threads in here. Try not to start so many new threads, though... people kind of get irritated when they see about 5-10 threads by the same person on one page. No harm done... just be more cautious in the future.
I think he would be a good assistant coach i think he would teach yao just playin him in practice and anything he says would sink in cause dream is yao's idol IMHO
Ironic that you guys are blasting each other over quantity and quality of threads. On The Rocket Guy they are trying to figure out why that board is so slow lately.
Why would he want to coach? Olajuwan should enjoy his retirement and the extra money he made by going to Toronto instead of staying here.
Hakeem would have to take a course in English and Communications, prior to starting on such a project! Jabar could do better. Hakeem O Fan.
olajuwon or david robinson would be a good fit for being a bench coach. Robinson has that sweet stroke inside the 15 that Yao can learn from, also SA is close to Houston
