Maybe we should go after the ninth pick. Dirk, Amare, and Mcgrady were all picked with the 9th pick :p

Until morey pulls the trigger, I will wait and see. He could've had detroits pick the year daye was picked, but got cold feet thinking about the guaranteed 3 yr contract of a 1st rd pick. Instead, he paid 3m for jermaine taylor.

I don't think that is DM that is making that call, I think it is Les.

Have to agree. Morey's moves are certainly indicative of an owner who wants his manager to maintain the budget. At the end of the day Morey is Les' employee and Les is running a business.

which is why i think its funny that people think morey is putting himself on the hot seat with the coaching change. like he did it without les' influence.

DM follows orders but he gets blamed for "not buying" first round picks when the chance was there. les has the final say on everything. dm just presents options to him.

ESPN reports the bobcats and rockets are indeed discussing the #9 for #14 & #23.

Makes a lot of sense if the cats are looking for one one of
    The Morris twins.

The thing i can't get my head around is ...if we move up to #9 or #10, it's very likely Valanciunas is gone already. So Houston has to have another target in mind who they think will be available in the 7-10 range. The question is who is that player? I really have no idea. Morey's interest in Valanciunas is obvious, but assuming we move up before the draft, and Valanciunas if off the board when we pick, who is plan B?

Use either pick to move up another couple of spots? Possibly combined with a young, talented player on a rookie contract, or for an expiring contract? Possibly with a future pick? Or use the same package, with other "assets," on an impact veteran player?

The only way we draft Walker is if we have a trade lined up for him. PG is not the concern and won't be the concern on this team for a while. We aren't that far away from being a very good team. And I don't think anyone believes Kemba Walker is going to transform into the superstar we need. So instead you upgrade a position of weakness....not take your one strength and shove a "potentially" all-star PG in.
