What about bringing back Othello Harrington.

If T-Mass really wants to go to the Grizz and Griz want to get rid of Harrington, why not?

Who do the Rocks have as the current core of PF? KT, Cato Collier?

I think Othello would be a good pickup for PF. He had a good season ion Vancouver last year.

    Hakeem/Cato
    Harrington/KT/Collier
    Williams/Langhi/Bullard
    Anderson/Cat
    Francis/Norris

    Thats a good young team.

If T-Mass leaves the Rocks need a PF. Who is available?

Othello?? That's a pretty cool game, though I prefer checkers or spades myself....

I saw O two weeks ago at a driving range on Westheimer. He said he would love to come back. I wanted to ask him if he thought he could play our new brand of basketball but I did not have the balls.
Honestly, I really like O but I do not believe his game fits our style.

Fit our style?? What's to fit? The dude is 6'9", 235 pounds!!

That's the great thing about a guy like Othella...You don't have to run ANY plays for him! All you have to do is tell him to stand underneath the basket, grab a few boards, set a couple of picks, and don't get hit in the head by one of Steve's passes if he's open underneath the basket. If Othella came here, he'd get most of his points from offensive put-backs, defensive mis-reads, and alley oops...think of him as the second coming of Otis Thorpe...Plus, he has an excellent left handed jump hook in the lane if we ever NEED to use him as an offensive weapon

Throw in Drew, and I bet the Grizz would do it.

Would picking Othella up work under the salary cap?
Seeing has how T-Mass is a free agent, I assume we'd have to sign-and-trade...correct?
Also, what's to stop Vancouver from simply signing T-Mass and having us get nothing out of it? If I were Vancouver, I might try and use Othella as trade bait for another (perhaps better than T-Mass) player who's not a free agent.

Who knows how the Vancouver front office thinks?

By the way, i recall reading somthing about Shareef Abdur Rahim demanding a trade if stu jackson was sent packing, (which he did, unless i´m mistaken)

anyone know what hecame of that?

Oh, and obviously you guys know where i´m headed.

Imagine a package (i know it´s almost impossible, don´t bother to tell me) that landed us Shareef and Othella...

    OH MY!

I like Othella, except when he has to defend some of the monster PFs in the western conference. He would be a good role player, or maybe start for just next year, but we need a stud at PF eventually to compete for the championship, in my opinion.

    Oh, and ANOTHER trade idea:

i saw on nbatalk that Ruben Patterson is being shopped around.

Could drew be of any interst to the Sonics?

Patterson had a nice showing at the beginning of last season.

Othello wouldn/t be a long term Fix, but good for now. 13 pts 7 rb again would work for me.

Othello is a warrior. At least that's the way Shakespeare portrayed him. [IMG] As for the guy up in Vancouver, I really don't know that we need him, although I do like him. I just think we ought to look for our long-term starter at the four, if at all possible, instead of looking for a quick fix that might not fix anything.

    Thanos-Reef later rescinded that demand.

U wouldn't mind Patterson if he came cheap.

Who would win if Othello Harrington went one-on-one with Shawn Iago, formerly of Rice? And how would Desdemona Mason fit into the picture? Is murder an intentional foul? There's just too much drama in the NBA these days.

Both are undersized 4's and Othella would be a marginal improvement at best. Vancouver would not let him go cheaply (especially to Houston - he's popular there and the press would crucify the management). You would likely take a beating trading KT. KT has more upside so let him grow until the RockS solidify a play-off quality 4 -and that's NOT Othella in spite of his work ethic.

Ummm...... I'd rather have KT. KT has an a better jump shot and more upside. Besides, Othella is a blackhole on offense. Also, KT has better moves... he just needs to finish better.

That makes Othello the first Moor in the NBA. We even drafted the first Turk(ey) and played the first Nigerian. Hell, we even had Kobe Bryant's daddy for a brief time! Too bad Pat Riley never made it to Houston; he left us in San Diego.

I didnt think that Othella was that popular in Vancouver. Didint Othella criticize Vancouver a couple of times?
