Starters C-Hakeem Olajuwon PF-Moses Malone SF-Clyde Drexler SG-Calvin Murphy PG-Steve Francis Bench Yao Ming Kenny Smith Charles Barkley Robert Horry Ottis Thorpe Cuttino Mobley Ralph Sampson Mario Elie I think that team could take out any one.
RocketFan85, You left Elvin Hayes and Rudy off your team. grrrrr You think that team could take out: Starters: Bill Russell Kevin McHale Larry Bird John Havilicek Pete Maravich bench: Bob Cousy Paul Pierce Reggie Lewis Bob McAdoo Dave Cowens Bill Walton Tommy Heinsohn Nate Archibald Dennis Johnson should I stop now, because I still haven't gotten to some other Hall of Famers or Antoine Walker. I love the Rockets, but you cannot take on the Celtics history...not close.
Heh heh...true...true...but that's not fair. The Celtics have a longer history than the Rockets. Weren't the Celtics winning championships in 1492?
This thread isn't about the best actually team, it is meant to be the best player in every posistion.
PG: Franchise SG: Mad Max SF: Rudy T PF: Moses C: Dream Bench: Cassell Cat Elvin Hayes Glide Elie OT Calvin Murphy Lewis Lloyd John Lucas Chucky Brown
Of course... who else is better fit to shutdown/scare the hell out of other teams' all-time greats, i.e. jordan, dr. j, iverson, payton, magic, bird, etc.
1.Steve Francis-Calvin Murphy 2.Clyde Drexler-Vernon Maxwell 3.Rudy Tomjanovich-Rodney Mcray (sorry i think that I botched this) 4.Ralph Sampson-Charles Barkley 5.Hakeem Olajuwon-Moses Malone Mario Elie and Elvin Hayes for energy guys.
1. Steve Francis 2. Cuttino Mobley 3. Scot...er..Rodney Mccray 4. Charles Barkley 5. Hakeem All players in their prime.
C: Olajuwon / Malone PF: Hayes / Tomjonavich / Barkley SF: Drexler / Robert Reid / R. McCray SG: Newlin PG: Murphy / Francis / Floyd / Smith 6th Man: Petersen / Mobley / Elie
C - Dream PF - Big E SF - Rick Barry SG - Glyde PG - Franchise 2nd unit C- Moses Malone PF - Charles Barkley SF - Rudy T. SG - Cat PG - John Lucas Others C - Ralph Sampson PF - Otis Thorpe SF - Robert Horry SG - Calvin Murphy PG - Sam Cassell That's three very high powered units that could beat just about anyone on any night. And yes HP I would put the 1st or 2nd unit up against any starting five from the Celtics you could come up with. Dream better than Bill Russell Big E Better than McHale Bird better than Barry Hondo and Glyde is a toss up Pete Maravich better than Franchise...for now. They are all HOF players wiht the exceptions of Glyde and he will be in the HOF in a couple of years and Francis who is still very early into his career. All of the players have been a major driving force on NBA championship teams with the exception of Francis. IMO Bird is the best of the group IMO but Rick Barry is not too shabby.

How could you guys forget the offensive exploits of World B Free, and the uber rainbow two handed, bend the knees jump shot. He was unstoppable.
WORLD B FREE. Ya know, I complain alot about Cat being a ball hog, but when I think about World B. Free, I realize it would be worst. That guy never met a shot he didn't like. He would jack it up from anywhere.
