With the draft 9 days away, I thought this was an interesting read.

I'm surprised we're not on this list, the quality of our rookies affects our direction and what happens to guys like Scola and Martin.

This applies to many other teams. Besides..media tend to ignore the rockets for some odd reasons.

This isn't media, it's bleacherreport. Anyway, their list is terrible at the top. The Celtics? If they are going to take another shot at contention, a rookie center from a weak draft isn't the key to success. Centers are the slowest maturing of all rookies. And, the riskiest gamble. And there's no way you want to give meaningful minutes to one on a team with championship hopes. You're better off grabbing a veteran stiff for the minimum.

Same with the Bulls. They're going to pick up a rookie shooting guard in the 10-20 range to make themselves contenders? No. They might throw in a couple of picks to trade for a veteran shooting guard.
