Hmm I could see both sides to this. Everyone is gonna talk about how Lebron choked once again, which is true.. But I think Dallas fought harder and was the better team so they deserved it.

Mavs winning. Heat will win a championship in the upcoming years and this loss will be forgotten.

I voted Heat losing. If they do indeed have a dynasty. Lebron's performance will always be questioned by this finals. They could win 5 championships in a row and Bron would be up for GOAT contender and they'd look back at this finals just to see how badly he played and lost it for the heat

Right now, the story seems to be the failure of two (and a half) superstars to get a ring after so much media attention. But if Wade, James and Bosh go on to win even a single championship in the coming seasons, this part of the story will someday fade into the background, much like, say, Jordan's playoff failures before he won his championships.

In the long run, 2011 finals will be remembered for the Dallas Mavericks as a franchise and two older, future HOFers (Kidd and Nowitzki) finally getting their first championship. All the other stuff will prove as ephemeral as any other celebrity gossip.

For the next few years, Heat losing, when the world rolls over and noone gives a **** about Lebron or Wade, history will show the Mavs winning.

Yes, if the Heat win a championship in the next couple years, this will be remembered for a great Mavs win. If the Heat fail to win, it will be remembered as the first time they choked in the Finals.

Mavericks winning, the Heat will probably win at least one ring with this group, in 20 years we'll probably have all forgotten about Lebron choking.

This series will forever be used as proof the Jordan > Lebron.

I have a problem with the idea that the Mavs could under no circumstances have won the series outright. Watching the coverage was silly. If it were Hakeem instead of Dirk, I'd need babywipes to get that crap out (different thread).

People make out the Mavs sweeped the Heat, but the Heat were up 2-1 at one stage, and should of been 3-1. It was the closest finals in 14 years, and could of gone either way.

Nobody made it out like the Mavs swept the Heat.

Mavs should never have let the game get close, they got complacent and let the Heat come back in several occasions. But when they got their heads screwed right they took back their lead to win the game.

Game 6 was probably the best example of what happens when Dallas actually stays focused throughout the entire game. Even with Dirk struggling (although he did do all the right stuff to affect the game in other ways), Heat could not cut the lead close.

It could've gone either way, but in reality the Heat should've been swept. They have no business winning any games with their horrific 4th quarter performances, especially from the one Lebron James.

Heat was the more talented team, easily. The Mavs? They wanted the championship, and you could see it in their face the moment they destroyed the defending champs. They weren't celebrating like they won a ring, they weren't partying like they just won the championship.

I can't say the same for the Heat, and if they really want a ring, they better stop riding on their talents and start riding on focus and effort.

This NBA finals could potentially mark the beginning of a dynasty, or the beginning of the greatest joke in sports history.

Mav's sweep the Heat? Really? The Heat played with effort, and were one the best defensive teams in the playoffs. Most people would agree that the Heat had a great shot, but fell short. Not even the most die hard Mav's fan would think they should of swept the Heat. The Heat played well in all the 6 games, and it was down to the final 5 minutes where they lost.

    That depends

IF Lebron doesn't choke anymore and wins multiple titles, this Finals series will be instead viewed as a turning point, blah blah and all that cliche stuff about "growth"

Lol I could see it end up being like the Giants-Patriots superbowl.

The one which everybody asks, "who won that year?" and not "who lost that year?"

The Heat WERE supposed to beat the Dallas if they had been the same team as the ones that faced the celtics and the bulls

The Heat that played Dallas was lucky to win one game, let alone two. Such pathetic performances from the best player on the roster in the most important quarter in every game, they are lucky to even win one game.
