Put it this way, if clutchfans was the NBA, Moes is Richard Jefferson. Great career, still awkward and gay.

If Clutchfans were the NBA, you'd be Ousmane Cisse.

    Who?

    Exactly.

Mavs may have won an NBA title, but at least the Chargers still don't have a Super Bowl.

Anyway back on topic... I'm loving how this little **** basically tried to spam his name with this 3rd rate article then goes around calling everybody out for being internet dweebs when he himself has the post replies in this thread.

Somebody get this noob out of my face, I'm big fish around here and these minnows better recognize game.

nathan8 -a few words of advice

    - this board has been around for over a decade and one thing that is frown upon here greatly is self-promotion. There are several people here who work for other companies (chron, radio stations, blogs even the rockets org themselves) that use this site and forum as a resource to get hits and nothing more. For the most part Clutch has allowed a lot of that because many times it creates relevant (and maybe even sometimes meaningful) discussion. Blatant self-promotion garnered just to get hits or look good is not tolerated - for example there was a huge uproar recently about Anna Megan from some tv channel or website recently where she'd start a thread about a recent article or story and then not post anything else. "Articles" from hoopsworld and bleacher report have consistently been considered to be 'banned' here because of their terrible content and in BR's case just making a random person's opinion come off as fact or as a legit blogger/sportswriter

your thread here is titled as such where you are promoting yourself - I mean honestly there are several thousands of members on this forum what makes your "article" so special that it needs to be titled in that fashion. To be honest I have not read it myself but from a quick glance through and the posts that followed you wanted some sort of deal for Josh Smith - if that is the case then what Carl Herrera suggested was correct it should have gone into the Random Trades and Ideas thread because thats exactly what it is. Sure maybe you would feel it would get buried in a sea of other similar "articles" just like it but there is a reason why that thread is there - to try to prevent a myriad of threads like this one from popping up and cluttering the board.

There has been plenty of followup/discussions to ideas in that thread if it was a good one. Judging from the comments so far in this thread the majority of them have nothing to do with your "article" at all. Most are just back and forth insults and jabs. So what exactly has this accomplished by trying to create a separate thread for it? Had it been posted in the Random Trade one you may have only had 3-5 follow up posts but they probably would have all dealt with the content of your post not the manner it was posted in.

Insulting those who registered in 99 or are contributing members or with a lot of rep will get you nowhere. If you just registered in Jan of this year (assuming you were not a member before and if you were, you should have probably known better than to post this in the way you did) - then you are still new to this board compared to those who have been on the board since 99 or browsing the main site since 96. You have yet to gain the same level of respect as them - contributing members have donated to help with the upkeep and maintenance of the site. Without their help this site probably would have died after Yao was drafted with the huge influx of new members then. Those who have a decent amount to a lot of rep - for better or worse they have had their opinions validated by the other members of this site repeatedly. Granted not all maybe not even a majority of the rep was given in the GARM or NBA Dish (ie: basketball related) but even then they have proven themselves as valuable contributors to the site. Insulting those people who more likely would have given you the most valuable feedback wasnt the smartest of decisions.

If you want to get into the world of sports writing/blogging then you probably should rethink the manner of how you will go about doing that. Right now you are coming off as arrogant and misinformed so you were repeatedly 'flamed' for that. I am sure there are other ways to hone your craft and maybe you can start up your own blog and get noticed for your content. A prominent member of this board did that very same thing and now has a pretty popular blog at espn...

If you arent going that route and just wanted to post something to get noticed as a new member on a board of thousands - you achieved getting noticed but for all the wrong reasons. Its better to be anonymous on a board of thousands than universally be known as a "noob"

The rest of you can carrying on with your flaming I am going to go back into semi-lurking again

For future reference, don't paste an image link from a local (to your computer) drive. Upload the image to a pic sharing site such as TinyPic or PhotoBucket and grab the forum code directly from their site.

That image scarred me. Look what you did, nathan8! Startin' ****. That's very unappreciated. If you wanted to write your own article, go to hoopsworld or bleacherreport.

I read to the end of page 3 in this thread and, by the quality of discussion, forgot that I wasn't in the Hangout.

YoYo: That was more than a few words of advice. And unnecessary. If he continues posting and begins understanding the personality of major posters, captain OP will realize what happened here.

    Dear Nathan,

I haven't been a member for awhile, but if you post something that long, which you obviously took time and effort to make, at least proofread it. Bad grammar and sentence structure just makes you look bad.

Novel idea, trading for Josh Smith. OP might be on to something.
