just read on twitter that big shot bob's 17 year-old daughter passed away today. here is a link to her foundation: http://www.ashlynhorryfoundation.org/ thoughts and prayers with the horry family.
If I remember correctly, Horry always mentioned his daughter of having no fear. I remember when he made the shot vs. the Kings, they asked how does he do it, as far not having any fear of missing and doesn't hesitate taking the big shots, and he replied "They're other things to worry about in my life" and he was referencing taking care of his daughter. Horry was always a class act and always put family first. +
Horry kept his home in Houston partly for his daughter, because the Medical Center is one of the best in the world and could treat his daughter's condition. Sad to hear.
Here is an old thread from 2002 when Horry was with the Lakers and racking up more titles. It has links to two stories from the LA Times and ESPN that go into great detail about Ashlyn and her challenges. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=33972 R.I.P. Ashlyn. Very saddened to hear this news and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Horrys today.
There are many events in the world that are just awful. I don't think any can be worse than burying your own child. May God bless the Horry family in this most trying of times.
So, so sad to hear this. My condolences to the Horry family. Classy folks who will surely be able to overcome the adversity. Best wishes.
