The game looked sweet, so I rented it yesterday, and it sucked.

NBA Live 2003 SUCKS...NBA 2K3 has the smoothest gameplay...Live 2003 is fruity in the booty...lol...i cant believe it outsells 2K3 like 6 to 1...i guess better promotion does fool the consumer...

It's just preference. I've played 2K3 and I hated it. i think People just prefer the more fun game in my opinion. However, 2k3 is definitely a better sims game.

NBA 2K3 is pretty amazing. Gameplay is great, albeit, a few minor flaws. The modes and game depth are pretty incredible, and the graphics are riviting. They have spared no visual detail on player models, faces, arenas, courts, broadcast presentations, etc. i mean, Kobe has his little purple calf sock on, AI has all of his tats, and that sleeve thingie, and Ben Wallace's hair might be braided for one game, and the next it will be afro-picked out, or Iverson's hair will be braided in a few different ways. They even show a player sweating, and scuff marks on the court. Good game!

I like NBA Live 2003, although it's pretty unrealistic. Too many fast breaks and the shooting percentages are absurd. But the gameplay is alright and the graphics are a whole lot better than last year. I guess I just have to get used to playing it- I've had it for four days now and I still havent mastered it, lol.

Holden has a great point. The throwback jerseys on Live are badass. I loved playing with the red and gold. But, I still had to go with 2K3 based on graphics and gameplay.

MIDWAY should have a game. Something violent like Slugfest and Blitz and all those Midway games.
