1-28 in conference. That explains everything. Question remains...who will they be able to get to replace Steele?
Its not his fault the team sucks..... They cant recruit anyone to go there..... But I guess thats the price you pay for losing.
I remember the days when Baylor could compete. They can recruit people to Waco but Baylor has a habit of just hanging around. It seems they are satisfied just being in the Big 12. Every other sport they do fine. A lot of people, especially here in Texas, look just at football. They need to get a big name coach to come there. Not sure if that will happen but with the right amount of money it might.
The year before he got there they had a bad record but were competative. The beat NC state and put up a good fight against UT and TTU. I realize they have limited talent but I think Steele's record speeks for itself.
Baylor is the worst coaching job in the Big 12. Does Baylor have any additional academic requirements? I know it's a private school but it isn't exactly Rice. As long as Baylor has those requirements, the Bears won't win in football. Baylor fans shouldn't have to put up with crap, but they shouldn't expect a contender either. IMO, no matter who Baylor gets, they'll still struggle. Nobody can be worse than Steele.
Absolutely correct...Baylor is a program that eroded in the mid 90s...and disintegrated under Steele.
I dont know if they have additional academic requirements but I do know that they dont get breaks like other large schools. The players are treated like every other student and there is not an easy program that they all take.
I fear that the Bears are going to go after Ken Hatfield. Hopefully he will reject their advances. Baylor's academic requirements? I don't even think Baylor has academic requirements for its actual students, much less athletes. If you're Baptist and have the money, you're in.
i'm gonna pretend that doesn't hurt, TJ! how about for episcopalians, though? guess you gotta be a genuis or something to get in as an episcopalian, right?
What's amazing is that Reggie Newhouse is about to break some pretty long standing Baylor WR records. (or he might've on Saturday)
Baylor has a high number of very smart students -- don't get me wrong. I just think their admissions criteria are not very stringent.
yeah...i saw some of those smart students when i was walking around campus. i envied those smart students! thank God for those less stringent admissions criteria!!
