    ^It was on Galavisión.

¡¡Golaaaaaaaaaazoooooooooo!!! Beautiful goal, Andrés Guardado... probably the best in the Gold Cup.

And another gol by Guardado. This kid is awesome.

Most of the players are starters for their teams or getting regular playing time. The only guys that aren't are Bradley and Agudelo, but they're still getting minutes.

The Goodson/Ream pairing may not be the greatest idea, neither of them have had a ton of time with the national team and Ream is still pretty young. Our forward pool is also really weak. Altidore has his moments but they are few and far between, and the worst part is he's still our best option. I wouldn't mind seeing Dempsey start at forward and let Bedoya start, he was about the only bright spot in the game last night.

The biggest issue is the mentality we go out there with. First off I don't think sending two defensive mids out there is a good idea. The only team in CONCACAF that warrants that type of play is Mexico, everybody else we should go out there with a mentality to impose our will on the game. Our second major problem is we don't seem to come out with any sense of urgency and instead wait until we're down to start playing. It's been a problem for the last two years and last night our comeback was too little too late. We were very fortunate to be able to comeback in our World Cup games which led us to overlook the problem.

What I saw last night was nothing but an embarrassment. There was absolutely nothing they did well. Nothing. It absolutely starts with the coaching. How could they be so unprepared for a team they know is going to put all 11 behind the ball and deep? The backs kept playing long ball after long ball to no where. The mids were non-existent. Jermaine Jones was just bad. The forwards have no idea how to work off one another.

Said it before, mostly in jest. I was kind of hoping for a first round failure. Something like this has to happen before Sunil Gulati will pull his head out of his ass and do the right thing. Fire Bradley before they embarrass the country again in 2014...assuming they make it there. Yes, depth is a problem. I don't think talent is, though...certainly not in regards to the rest of CONCACAF. I do know there has been no improvement in the last couple of years and there won't be throughout this WC cycle with Bradley in charge. We'll see the same garbage out there game after game.

Qualified for the quarterfinals are Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama. Mexico wins group A and Jamaica wins group B. Group C is still up for grabs.

Honduras will play Costa Rica by virtue of finishing 2nd in B and A.

USA can still win group C if they beat Guadeloupe and Panama loses to Canada, and the goal difference is USA+2. Also, USA could play Mexico in quarterfinals only if they finish third, and Jamaica or someone else if USA wins their group or finish second.

Eliminated from point differential are Cuba, Grenada and Guadeloupe.

If it stays the way it is now (everyone ties tomorrow), USA is eliminated, El Salvador advances to the quarterfinals. Either way, it seems USA can beat Guadeloupe. Let's hope they can get their act together for a good game tomorrow.

I like how Mexico is playing, but I hope they continue this good streak, and they dont get too confident.

Wow. Today's US misses remind me of Chicharito the day before yesterday. USA is on its way to the quarterfinals.

Jamaica won't have mercy on you.

O, Clint Dempsey. You're an insult to football.

Wow, can't believe Canada gave up a 90th minute goal and went from qualifying for the next round to going home.

This was not a positive result in my mind. This should have been 6-0 at the least. Piss poor finishing. Weak minded play by Donovan and Bradley. What the f*** were they afraid of by attacking and taking players on? Dempsey was just pathetic in front of goal. He's much better than that. There's no excuse for their performance in the first round.

The Altidore goal tonight was the only highlight of the first round for the USA. That was one hell of a crack.

    So. Many. Chances.

It was insane how many chances Dempsey missed in front of goal. Jozy's rip was fantastic, though. I was encouraged by Bedoya's play and wish we had gotten an insurance goal so Agudelo could have played some.

That said, I think Jamaica has the chance to run us off the field. They're really coming on and they won't be the half-step behind that Guadeloupe was tonight.

    it's painful to watch the u.s. play:mad:

they're horrible. I especially hate when they "pass" the ball by kicking it in the air and causing a turnover.

Mexico vs Jamaica , Book it.

    Over course Mexico wins:p

^ "Over course"??? Haha... autocorrect FAIL.

    Quarterfinals Time!

Heads up, so you can schedule your errands, try to trick your kids into letting you have the TV if they don't already know you can DVR it, etc.:

18 JUN. 4:00 PM Costa Rica vs. Honduras
18 JUN. 7:00 PM México vs. Guatemala

19 JUN. 2:00 PM Jamaica vs. Estados Unidos
19 JUN. 5:00 PM Panamá vs. El Salvador

They are scheduled 3 hours apart because of possible extra time periods or kicks from the penalty spot if tied after extra time.

Good luck to all. May the best team win.

Wow, that was an entertaining win by Honduras. Nice!

Holy crap, we are losing on just one single mistake and Pescadito capitalizes. This sucks... now Guatemala will just hunker down... :(

I doubt I'm the only person that thinks this but I believe Jamaica will be able to get the win today over this U.S. team.
The Reggaeboyz are looking as good as they've ever looked since qualifying for '98 while the US team have looked out of sorts all Gold Cup.

Bob B has decided to go with Goodson and Boca in the middle(good decision imho instead of the inexperienced Ream).
Also Adu in the first 18 and Donovan on the bench(Late return from his sister's wedding). Oh and Altidore already subbed out with a hammy injury so Agudelo in.

Bedoya and Kljestan starting, I like those two moves.

I'm totally fine with Bedoya in.

It also wouldn't shock me to see Jamaica move on.
