It is not a huge deal, but it just shows their attitude. Of course it is offensive, because they either insinuate that he was acting and not really sick or that the media is exaggerating his illness, or both. Either way, it is a stupid thing for them to do, especially after they just got their asses kicked by the guy they are mocking. Of course it has to do with basketball. They were referring to the last game played.

And if you are interested in the game, you are probably interested in the characters that play the game. Most people are. And their actions here do not paint them in a good light, follow-up stupidity by Wade included.

Some of you are killing me trying to paint Dallas as the "good" team & Miami as the classeless "bad" team. Think about every time punk a$$ Jason Terry does his stupid Jet after every jumpshot that he's paid to hit. Terry runs his mouth when the Mavs win and is silent when they lose. He's about as "classless" as they come. Dirk is a good player. Lebron & Wade play for a different city and thus they have my indifference, but I will NEVER & I mean NEVER root for Dallas to win ANYTHING!!!

Well, Wade and James do it the other way around, apparently ;).

I kind of agree with you on Terry (I HATE him when the Mavs play against the Rockets), but he is a complementary player. Let's compare apples and apples (stars vs. stars and role players vs. role players).

    dude shutup.

I really hate this sore losers mentality. They beat us ok. There were bad calls but they were undeniably the better team. They are a division rival which is true , but dirk, kidd, barea, chandler, peja, marion are all players I could root for. Everytime people act like the mavs raped their mom it really makes them look much better and the rockets much worse, as if deserving pity is something they need.

Hey, you can just shut up, too. Who cares if they were the better team? They had a bunch of punk a** b**ches on that team- Howard, Terry, Stackhouse- and they were and are still owned by a whiny attention w**** of an owner whose only saving grace is that he finally shut his mouth these playoffs. You watch- if they win, he'll go right back to being obnoxious, probably even more so. And they still have that punk a** b**ch Terry, who is worse to me than Wade, James, and Bosh combined.

We were humiliated by Dallas, and the sight of them laughing and clowning around on the bench during that game 7 is the one memory of the Mavericks that sticks with me. And let's not pretend that Dallas, as they are constructed right now, are a bunch of choir boys. Many of us used to complain about Chandler getting into it with Rafer Alston when he was with New Orleans. DeShawn Stevenson- calling Lebron overrated??? Like he's ever done anything even remotely close to what Lebron has. Don't get me started on Terry. The wife-beater Jason Kidd- and he admitted to it, so don't say it was "alleged"- ain't exactly my favorite player, either. Didn't care much for Marion or Stoudamire when they were on Phoenix. And then there's still Cuban.

So, who does that leave? Dirk, Barea, and Peja. That's not enough for me to root for the Mavericks. I personally have no issues with Haslem, Miller, Chalmers, Bosh, Anthony, or Bibby. So, it boils down to Wade- who admittedly is turning into a pr**k- and James- who actually bothers me very little. If the worst he's done was The Decision, then "boo hoo" to all the haters.

The players on each team are a wash. So, it comes down to: do I root for the Heat or the Mavericks? No question- Heat. The day I root for the Mavericks, Jazz or Lakers is the day that they come and pry my Olajuwon jersey from my cold, dead fingers.

I see what you did there, Dirk. That was my favorite part of this.

I agree that the little fake cough was not newsworthy and it wouldn't have become an issue if, say, JJ Barea had done it. If Lebron had the flu and Dirk had done it? Would have been newsworthy. But Dirk wouldn't do that, I don't think, and especially not after losing a game.

What's more newsworthy to me is Wade's sense of entitlement / brat routine. "Oh we played you haters. We knew you would hate, um, yeah, so we, like, coughed a lot more and laughed, because, um, wait... oh yeah! because we're like two steps ahead of y'all haters. Yeah, that's right. I am teh genius."

    LOL @ Clippy.

If Kobe did it, he'd probably come out blasting how evil he is, how sorry of a human he is and bla bla bla.

Don't lie, you know it is true.

Yes I do. Kinda how Kendrick Perkins and Paul Pierce, and basically the whole Boston team starting acting tough and talking more when KG got there.<p>I have always been a Wade fan, but I have been rooting against the Heat this year. The more I watch Wade in games as well as press conferences I'm losing respect for him. I wish he would get back to the old Wade that just played BBall and not get caught up in all the other bull. And yes some of the things are being blown out of proportion, but they should have known this would happen and try to keep a low key as much as possible. If you are being bad sometimes, people will assume that you are always being bad...

This. Jason Terry is making it hard to root for Dallas, but I rather they win than Miami.

These playoffs have completely changed my perception of Dirk. Rings or not, he is THE GREATEST POWER FORWARD TO EVER PLAY BASKETBALL. Nobody is as versatile as this guy and the focus he is showing right now is Kobe-like. Two extremely deadly combinations.

Jason Terry, Tyson Chandler, and Deshawn Stevenson celebrates/poses after every shot they make.

That is why I couldn't understand why Chandler and Terry were whining about Miami celebrating.

i think he means as in his own category. He is one of the best jump shooters in the game and at 7 feet, fading away its impossible to block him. Ironically he does get blocked driving in at times.

Barkley was versatile, but I always thought he lacked the size. He was more of a PF in a SF body, and playing him at SF in the lineup could really cause havock.

As far as malone and TD go, I don't like the phrase "TD is the greatest PF ever." He's essentially a Center with some shooting capability. Hakeem had better ball handling, jumpshooting and "PF" skills vs Center skills than TD, yet he always played center.

I think it is up in the air, but i don't know if you could call dirk the best, ever. Its far too complicated considering his style of play is so much more different than the rest. but he will always be called "one of the ..."

I'm taking it you've never played a competitive sport. Usually when a team gets embarrased, its not the opposing teams fault. You should never worry about what the other team does, just what YOU have to do. And getting embarrased falls completely on the rockets. Apart from terry being an annoying prick that shoots lights out in the tc, I don't understand your argument. I dislike most of the players on the heat more. Ironically I actually like wade, hes become more antagonistic since the arrival of lebron due to egos skyrocketing, but yea, I like the mavs much better. They are a much more cohesive team that grits it out and reflects the ideals of their coach, someone who I've always liked, Rick Carlisle. Kind of like the scrappy rockets under adelman.

When it comes to thugs, Miami clearly has more of that swag on them. James, Wade, and Bosh may have been in the league for 7 yrs now, but compared to kidd and Dirk, they have a long way to go. The heat just come off as a bunch of teenage punks that are plenty gifted athletically but lack the mental edge to win games. They're pretty childish in how they come off.

I never liked Josh howard or stack, Howard especially. But the rest of the team I always thought was cool. The next person that could remotely be a punk was devin harris. Terry comes off as a punk because he talks alot during games as most players do...but hes a very humble guy off the court. I regret talking a lot of **** about him and his turtle look over the past couple of years. Maybe its the fact that nowitzki and kidd have sort of tamed and matured the guy but I got to see him in person and he was a very likeable type of person. Yes it sounds wierd, but its true.

This is true. As I said our culture is motivated by jealousy. People are jealous of what the Miami Heat have so they are "evil". These guys took a pay cut to actually build a competitive team. Oh yeah, these "douche bags" won a gold medal for my country as well. Ignorance is bliss.

    thats not entirely true.

while they get payed less the first year, they end up with pretty much cap max levels later on.
