Media gets it right this week, coaches don't.

Interesting that the penalty for losing on the road to the No. 1 team is the same as losing at home to an unranked Boston College team-- five spots.

Michigan remains the most overrated team in America.

Good for OU, and it may help the Buckeyes out more in the BCS! So this is a good theing!

Honestly OU deserves the spot. Thye have played tougher teams and look very good.

    BK-
We want Michigan to be overrated! OSU needs Michigan to keep winning, hope for some losses (from the teams above them) and come into the big game ranked 5-6th. Have OSU destroy them, and hopefully keep Micigan in the top 10 to get us some more quality win points!

maybe its just me, but i don't think a team should drop a spot unless they lose... espcially considering that polls are the only way to determine a national champion (rather than a playoff, where it wouldn't matter as much)

Let's just say if there were no preseason polls, OU would be #1 if the polls started a couple weeks ago.

I don't mind taht teams drop if they win a game, it just makes up for the fact that there are preseason polls.

The coaches haven't gotten it right all year, whether it's a discrepancy at #1 or elsewhere.

but that means that individual teams get penalized because of the media outlets that release polls in the preseason (which if you go back into an old thread about college football last month, you will see I vehemently HATE!)

It's just a case of two wrongs making a right IMO.

If the polls weren't released until the BCS was released, OU probably would have been #1 anyhow.

I think it's just a case of fixing a prior mistake. I thought Miami deserved to be #1 before the year, but why even have a poll before the year? Essentially OU was "behind" Mia before the season began. How much sense does that make? Less sense than dropping Miami after a loss.

University of Iowa at #6! Woo Hoo!

Thank you, other top 10 teams, for losing.

I do believe teams tend to fall pretty hard when you lose...they fall too far, maybe; Iowa's team is good, but the ole inferiority complex is coming on strong. We beat Michigan at Ann Arbor; we slapped Wisconsin around; beat other good teams.

And we still might not go to the Rose Bowl. Grrr. Ohio State! LOSE, BUCKEYES, LOSE!
