The very first step is to teach the refs that anytime a player goes flailing across the floor 5 feet that he is flopping. Any time a player goes flying like that it is an obvious flop, yet the refs go for it all the time.
What about flags I think the coach should be able to trow 1 flag per game for questionable calls so that coaches can review it whether its a foul, traveling or a flop ect. I think that would reduce technical fouls on coaches, ejections and improve fairness in critical game ending situations while not slowing the game too much.
Flopping has no business in the league!!! And the person who started this post says that he hates talented players like LBJ flop. Actually, LBJ isn't talented and talent does not flop that excessively. That was the most exaggerated flop ever and the league should fine them $10,000 per excessive flop.
Fining players is a bit excessive imo. They should do something like a warning for 1st flop, 2tech fts on the 2nd, 2tech fts and an ejection on the 3rd.
you're right. The smartest commentator that offers interesting insight and new ideas should just be quiet.
Charge to the team, not to the individual player. But the ejection on 3rd offense and so forth will be on the player that flops. This way the players dont try to take turn flopping.
This doesn't make sense because the problem is the refs have difficulty determining what is a flop and isn't. Don't get me wrong, the refs should do a better job in game. They make way too many calls where they can't see the foul, but anticipate it. It shoudl be simple - either you see the foul or you don't. What happens after the foul does not impact whether or not it was a foul. The reason players flop grew out of the fact that refs make calls because of what happens after the foul... often there will be an offensive or loose ball foul, but it won't be called without exxagerated reaction. That shouldn't be the case... ... BUT, i recognize it's a very difficult game to call. So, your proposal implies in game response, which is very difficult for the ref to do... heck they're the ones making the bad calls in the first place in the game. what is needed is some kind of post game review and action. I do not think fines are excessive. on the contrary, they aren't excessive enough. lebron james getting fined $10,000 for a flop? that's nothing to him. they need to be assessed a technical foul as well, with those technicals adding up on top of other technicals to result in suspensions. or on their own system where flops 1-5 are increasing fines, thereafter increasing suspensions, or something like that.
What about this one? The big 3 sure do know how to flop like baby seals. Sad that they have to resort to that garbage.
Like I said before, Lebron and Wade are league manufactured superstars. These ridiculous flop calls they get in their favor elevate them to elite status.
Scola is one of my faves but he might be top 5 flopper in the league. I don't see why people think martin flops. He actually gets hit. What Kmart does is initiate the contact, which is playing by the rule book. Hayes always has great position. Lowry never gets a call to go his way so it should not even count as flopping.

That's quite a statement coming from a Kobe Bryant fan, given that Kobe has been handed three championships by biased officiating in the last 11 years (2000 Game 7 against Portland, 2002 Game 6 against Sacramento, 2010 Game 7 against Boston) and that the league had to institute a new rule to prevent Kobe from continuing to injure other players in his violent attempts to flop.
Not to mention that Kobe verbally flops more than anyone in NBA history. HEEEEEEY!!!!! God, I've loved not having to hear that nonsense for most of these playoffs.
Yes, sir, you are correct. The NBA allows LBJ springs in his shoes and turns on a series of magnets whenever he shoots. He's never had to work his ass off in the weight room or on the court to complete any of these plays.
