    I saw this article and thought about this interesting question. I know this was debated in the past but a few years have gone by and their careers are pretty much defined. Who is the best defender? (Note: the question is not asking who you would want on your team nor is it asking who is the best player)

    What year Ron are we talking? now?

    I think you'd be pretty silly to take any year Shane over Artest 5 or 6 years ago, well unless you knew he was about to punch out a spectator.

    But now? Artest is probably more washed up, so yeah

    Artest wasn't traded from the Rockets to the Lakers.

    When Ron was playing in Houston, Shane was better, but Ron was much better in his prime (before Palace incident), he was as close as you probably may be to Scottie those times
