A man can dream, can't he? Verse I Wish that I was on ol' Rocky Top Down in the Tennessee hills Aint' no smoggy smoke on Rocky Top Ain't no telephone bills Once I had a girl on Rocky Top Half bear, other half cat Wild as a mink, but sweet as soda pop I still dream about that Chorus Rocky Top you'll always be Home sweet home to me Good ol' Rocky Top Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee Verse II Once two strangers climbed ol' Rocky Top Lookin' for a moonshine still Strangers ain't come down from Rocky Top Reckon they never will Corn won't grow at all on Rocky Top Dirt's too rocky by far That's why all the folks on Rocky Top Get their corn from a jar (Repeat Chorus) Verse III I've had years of cramped-up city life Trapped like a duck in a pen All I know is it's a pity life Can't be simple again (Repeat Chorus) Tennessee 27 Miami 17
yes, the refs deserve some horrible suffering in hell for that call on williams. bradford needs some suffering in hell for kicking right to groce. simms, hey he had a good game what can i say. and hey greg, what do you know, that roy williams guy, he's pretty good. simms made huge passes on third down all game long and williams made big catches. i loved how nonchalant the dislocated finger thing was, just like hey, this came out, could you pop in back in real quick so i can go back in. the D stepped up huge on 3rd and 4th and short but allowed way too many yards. that last TD by neb, were we even trying?? but my man vasher, thank you so much for saving us. oh and the refs deserve to burn in hell for that call.
The Nebraska fans sound cool. I met a lot a Kansas State fans at sports bars when we were living in LA, and they were some of the most polite people I've met anywhere. On a different note, interesting how the Nebraska AD, back in 1998, said 'Texas may have invented football, but Nebraska perfected it'. he he he...
I couldn't quote that ****ing song because I would throw up if it was in a post of mine. Forget Tennessee....it is Pittsburgh that I think has the best chance of knocking off the Canes and then Virginia Tech. Now of course, if Miami plays next week like they did today, then they can lose to anyone. But they can not lose to that school (Tennessee).....I still hear about the damn 86 Sugar Bowl from these Tennessee redneck idiots.
probably not the BCS. i see us as #6 in the BCS, but #4 in both polls. remember the country LOVES ND... i think OU takes over MIA in both polls as well.
We're clearly #4 in BCS. No way the computer rankings keep ND much above us after their loss. Plus they get +1 for a loss, and their strength of schedule worsens, while ours improves a little. Almost time to check orbitz.com for tickets to Tempe.
i just don't think we have the respect of the stupid computer rankings around the country. i can easily see ND above us, since everyone with a ranking loves them. (and possibly Iowa). VT's strength of schedule will cause them to freefall. Texas has never been a favorite of the BCS and i don't see it changing this monday.
I'd go wild (with excitement) if TX OU rematched in the Fiesta Bowl. I'll be the first to admit I thought the season was over when we lost to OU. I thought Texas in the Fiesta Bowl was impossible, but now we have the best shot out of the 1 loss teams. Our only loss came to BCS # 1....how many teams can say that? With Baylor, Tech, and A&M remaining, it's a very real possibility. Simms stepped up tonight. And guess who his OC is? Davis called the plays, Simms delivered. When I saw Simms in the shotgun I did a double take. Texas gets some raw deals (off. pass interference) so when Groce returned the punt I thought 'here we go again'. Then finally a break (Vasher interception). There will not be two undefeated teams. Miami or OU will lose, maybe both. If Rutgers could have taken care of business...oh well ND, UGA, and VT goin down in one week is good enough.
I Really hope that we are above ND... I like the Irish, but they lost to an unranked team while we lost to the #2 (in my opinion #1) team in the nation. That fact alone, since the win/loss record is so important, would say that we should be above them.
I'd go wild (with excitement) if TX OU rematched in the Fiesta Bowl. Me too......Man, what an ending to Chris Simms' career if he beats OU in the championship....
They still have Iowa and Michigan on the schedule. The bad thing is, I could see Iowa jumping UT in the bcs if they beat OSU.
Just out of curiosity... did ANYBODY think that Roy Williams actually committed pass interference? I think the ref should be suspended over that one. The guy who made the call *could not* have had enough information to tell if Roy pushed or if it was honest contact.
