I've had no experience with it, ever. I don't know anyone that's ever been hypnotized. Looking at videos, it looks fake. But this video, he hypnotizes two strangers to make out while their b/f and g/f watches.... pretty insane stuff. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/luVcCs0UMB0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
A medical hypnotist tried to hypnotize me several times. The whole time I was just thinking " am I hypnotized yet?". It never worked.
My friend was hypnotized into seeing UFOs. He walked outside and said "HEY, LOOK UP AT THE SKY!" and everyone laughed at him. Just a coincidence that this is a ToyCen thread.
ToyCen, did you actually watch the video with the sound on? The commentary from the people who participated is that they were acting. "I played the part of ______....a volunteer." I played the part of _________" If I wanted to be convinced hypnotism was real, I wouldn't use video where the people are all talking about how they were acting.
step away from the keyboard...slowly step away from the keyboard...slowly step away from the keyboard...slowly
I didn't even click on the video but I am not surprised by this revelation, lmao. Max - you have the patience of Job when it comes to dealing with this weirdy!
At first I felt bad for him, but this ToyCen428 post-breakdown attention grab is reaching Charlie Sheen heights.
Moving beyond the hilarious jibs at ToyCen I have never beleived in Hypnotism, Post hypnotic suggestions, etc. Now, Telepathy . . that is something different!! Rocket River
Serious answer... When I was home from grad school in the Summer of 1986, all I had to do was finish my thesis and I could graduate in August, but I could not seem to make myself work on it. My Mom suggested I go to see this psychiatrist who had helped a friend stop smoking. With nothing better to do, I go see the guy, who turns out to be a really cool old Jewish guy who looks like a caricature of old Jewish guys (I'm not anti-semitic... just giving you a visual). We talk for a bit and then he says he wants to hypnotize me. I'm game so I relax while he's talking but in the back of my mind, I'm thinking there is no way this is going to work. Eventually he says, "Raise your left arm." I'm thinking, "no way man," but a second later my left arm rises and stays there until he tells me to put it down. Then he starts talking to me about finishing my thesis and how he wants me to carve up time during the day to get it done. I had 4 sessions with him over two weeks and finished my thesis with more than enough time to graduate at the end of summer. I never felt like I was hypnotized, so it may have been just a way to get me open to suggestions, but whatever it was, it got me over the hump. One of the two great benefits of those sessions was that he taught me some techniques to get to sleep whenever I want regardless of what's going on or how much stress I'm under. I still use those to this day when I need to catch some Zs during a fire or when my daughters are hosting a slumber party. The other great benefit was that while in hypnosis he talked to me about how after the sessions I'll have much more confidence around girls and be able to close the deal with more ease. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking how odd that this little old Jewish guy is trying to help me score with chicks. Well, I don't know what exactly happened, but after that, I went on my best roll ever. Anyway, great experience and some of the things he talked to me about under hypnosis are still very much a part of my life today. Not bad for two weeks.
