First I heard someone on here mention it was probably to be a 2 year deal with maybe an option but now I've read on espn.com that it is a 6 year 31 million dollar contract....but rudy t said on the radio today that they don't release that info and he wouldn't even give the amount of years which doens't make sense why would they not at least give number of years...so what i'm asking is does anyone know anything as far as if it's 6 years including options or what and also is espn just guessing that since the rockets don't release the info....

while i'm posting i also read on nba.com that the salary cap is moving to 35.5 million...so that should help us...does that help us any this year though or no since we are way over cap? and lastly i know the indiana deadline passed for their exception what was it used on?

    thanks

AP Wire is reporting that it's a 6 year deal for $31 million, but of course that doesn't mean it's true. [IMG]

hmm kind of a move that doesn't make sense for mobley.. why sign a big deal like that when he could have made a lot more money in a few years...i am kinda surprised especially with the future of the rockets in houston unknown at this time....but hey at least he is loyal

We're still WAY too far over the cap for this year for the 35.5mill to make adent (without checking I couldn't say exactly, but I think we're at 50+million). But with next years increase too that should help us out.
    Indiana didn't use their exception.

    You're welcome.

looks like he took NO big signing bonus.

So assuming a 12.5% raise of roughly $.5m each year, that is

    salary compensation:
    $4m
    $4.5
    $5.
    $5.5
    $6
    $6.5
    ----------
    = $31.5

What, no signing bonus?? Teams can give a bonus up to 25% Total compensation...which would given him another $8m nearly.

I ask because bonuses count towards the salary cap. Davo...do teams report bonuses to the public or only the base + raise part???

    Man...with no bonus...Mobley got screwed!!
