ok, i love this team, and i loooooove joaquin hawkins.

he plays some nasty D and he knows how to draw a foul.
    and dare i say it?

he's a good actor too! talk about a crafty rookie!!

i have no doubt we will be in the playoffs.

he is not too bad a shooter either.

    mario ellie II?

see, tha thing that kills me, is that alll the negative biyatches that have taken over this board will probably complain about this game too. but it a tough game. lotsa good D on both sides, and the team leaders steppin up when they needed to.

and hawkins is tha muthafu@kin man!

Hawkins is on the radio right now, announcer said he is player of the game. Got to be proud of the guy... Sounds like a nice guy on the radio.;)

One more player we can love. He did very well leading the team when we got the bench players in the 2nd quarter. I hope SF and CAT can do as good in passing.:)

Hawkins is an absolute stud. I can't believe the guy can even shoot a little. He needs to be a regular part of the rotation.

kudos to Scotty Brooks and Earl Cureton for finding this one.

I didn't get to see him. Does he shoot the ball like Elie?

I totally agree.. I think Rudy has finally found the guy to carry on
Mario's legacy of being willing to do the dirty work and be nails
when the time comes to hit a big shot..

    Hawkins = Elie

No, he did not shoot the ball that well. He missed a couple of open shots in the early goings, but made few during the crunch time. He played good D and always willing to swing the ball,
    a great role player.

No, he doesn't crouch down and launch the ball straight up into the air with his feet barely leaving the ground like Elie. He takes more of a regular jumpshot, except he really leans in toward the basket when he shoots, so he lands well forward of where he takes off on the jumpshot.

Yeah, but once everyone's healthy, we're going to have a 12-man rotation! A deep bench is great, but where are all these minutes going to come from?

Tonight we were missing T-Mo, Mo-T, KT, Rice and Tito, yet Yao and Boki still only got 13 minutes each. Even if Collier and Tito rack up a bunch of DNPs, that still leaves us with a 12-man rotation. That's some frightening depth. Rudy better have a keg on the bench to keep the end of the rotation happy.

I am suprised that no one else picked him up before we did. He is going to be a solid player.

Personally, I'm hoping a lot of minutes get taken away from the dreaded 3 guard offense. :)

I hate being negative, but I'm not counting on Rice to remain healthy for an extended number of games. And I hate to say this, but Griffin may have some trouble getting minutes if KT and MoT come on strong. Eddie's not making the best of the opportunity.
    :(

If we stop putting Steve at the 2, and bring Mobley's minutes down to 36, then there's enough playing time for Hawkins.

Our defense is improving. I envision this line-up in the near future becoming one of the best defensive teams in the league:

    Ming/Cato
    Griffin/Cato
    T-Mo/Boki
    Mobley/Hawkins
    Francis/Moochie

Mobley and Francis don't have to be Payton-like or anything. All I ask is that they give 100% on defense. Whatever they do is a plus. Whatever gets by them, will be taken care of by Cato, Ming, Griffin or T-Mo.
