No he didn't. That'd be like Tony Sanchez accusing Rick Perry of helping kill someone because while he was trying to get out of his speeding ticket, another car sped by and killed someone down the road. It's wrong and classless.
Or like saying the $60 million that Tony Sanchez has wasted on his campaign could have saved thousands of poverty-stricken individuals in need of life-saving drugs.
Or the hundreds of millions of dollars that Republicans have spent could've done the same thing...what's your point? To say that Sanchez and his bank, which were cleared of any wrong-doing by authorities (not to mention honored by Perry a few years ago...guess that makes him an accessory too), had anything to do with this murder is wrong and classless. It's equivalent to saying the people in Maryland that served the Snipers food played a role in the killings.
Politics is a brutal game... I know what you are talking about now, and that commerical doesn't imply that Sanchez killed that agent, it just states that drug money was launder within his bank and a federal agent died during the case.
http://www.american-blue.com/artman/publish/article_875.shtml In the ad, prominent former Drug Enforcement Administration agents Phil Jordan and Hector Berrellez, both Hispanics, say that the same drug cartel that killed agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena laundered money in Sanchez's bank. "Kiki chose to serve our country by fighting drug cartels and was murdered for that choice," says Jordan, standing beside Berrellez on the banks of a river. "Tony Sanchez's bank chose to help the drug dealers get their money back," Berrellez adds. "Now Texans have a choice. Just say no to Tony Sanchez," Jordan says. If that doesn't attempt to imply that Sanchez is somehow responsible for the murder, what is it trying to imply?
Its a statement of fact, not opinion. I am sure Sanchez had nothing to do with the death of the agent. The commerical has never implied that. All it said was that Sanchez bank was used to launder money from a drug cartel and that a agent died during the case. Thats all, nothing more nothing less. If you are reading more into it, then you must also think that the Haitian Immigrants was a october surprise planted by the Bushes to?
What? If the Democrats made an ad implying that, then I'd admit that they made an ad implying that. I wouldn't agree with it at all, but I'd at least recognize it for what it would be...at tasteless ad. Why would you even bring this up if you weren't trying to imply that Sanchez is somehow responsible for the death. Hell, at least Trader_Jorge can see that...I disagree with him, but at least he understands what the commercial is saying.
First off, I didn't bring this commerical up, you did. I personally saw a commerical about a article linking Tesoro S&L to a drug cartel, but not the one in the article you are quoting. Secondly, After reading the article you link to, I hate Sanchez worse now that I did a few minutes ago. He must have known where that money was going to and he turned a blind eye to it. That shows little class! Lastly, Democrats are fighting for there political lives this term. They do not want to win for the people of this country, they will say anything and do anything to stay in power. They will do anything to win, which includes signing up dead people to vote, boat in Haitians for political gain, attempt character assassinations when ever possible, hold political rally at funerals. That is classless!!!
As a Spanish-speaker in Texas, I can also see that Tony Sanchez has failed the test of leadership and is bad for Texans.
I can agree with that, even though I don't think the other one is good for Texans either. Won't even respond to the garbage posted by Phi83, except to say that it's garbage.
Sorry if the true hurts. Sanchez and the Democrats throw just as much mud or more mud as the Republicans.
I know that is true. Garbage refers to you calling the Democrats classless and power hungry, and to your ridiculous assertion that the Haitian immigrant thing was a Democratic political tool.
I was probably pushing the boundries by saying the Haitians are a political surprise by the Democrats, that has not been proven yet. But the democrats are power hungry just like all political parties. The democrats are on the ropes this election term and you must admit they are fighting pretty dirty.
Then why do you only refer to Democrats as classless? I'd also disagree that they're on the ropes...they did take over control of the Senate recently. Pretty much all politicians fight dirty.
Phi83, Since you are apparently the arbiter of classy behavior, please offer your opinions on how classy the GOP behaved with Vince Foster's suicide. I would also like to hear what you think of Gingrich's remarks after Susan Smith's kids were pulled from the lake.
Let me retort each these on there own: Only because of "Jumpin" Jim Jeffords... Without him the Republicans would have the House and the Senate and the Presidency. Well, I never said I was the one to define classy or not class, its my opinion take it for what it is. As far as the Vince Foster suicide, if you read the autopsy report its almost impossible to commit suicide the way he did. The angle and trajectory of the build was 3 feet further that a "normal" suicide should be or could be. I think the GOP was worried about what really happen to him, there are still consiracy theories floating around on that one. I am rubber you are glue, what ever you saw bounces off me and sticks on you!
So Democrats only care about getting elected and the GOP was just worried about what really happened to Vince Foster. Congratulations. You've outpaced T_J for the most biased, simpleminded righty on the board. And you did it in less than 100 posts. I am truly impressed.
