Oh how I love a Canes box. Extra toast, no cole slaw. The last KFC I had was actually a lot better than the last Popeye's
I can't believe I didn't mention this before, do you guys have Harris Teeter down there? It's a grocery store chain in some of the Southern states. I got some of their fried chicken when I was in VA, damn, some of the best I've ever had. Hearty pieces of real meat, just the right amount of herbs.
From the poll, Popeyes. But I would rather have Cane's. They are to die for. And yes, the toast is laced with crack. Has to be. Can't get enough.
My favorite fried chicken is probably Popeye's or a Babe's (in the DFW area). KFC is nasty. Too salty the couple of times I've tried it. Church's is greeeezy or floury or something. Tastes better than KFC, though. There're a couple of Raising Canes opening up by me, so I may give that a try. Fried chicken is one of those foods I crave if I haven't had it for a long time, but then I eat it and it feels like I swallowed a brick. After that I'm good for about 3-6 months. Oh yeah, and Chick Fil A? Fried Chicken? Come on... lol.
I was slightly impaired when I made this thread last night and stuffing my face with popeye's and brew. I've had the bubble guts all day, but it was worth it. I agree with everyone saying chick fil a isn't really considered fried chicken, it's kind of a loaded poll.
There is approximately a 38.6% chance this side-effect will occur if you eat Popeye's spices. The only recommendation I can offer is to find a toilet, put your seatbelt on, and think of happier times, because it, indeed, was worth it.
Thank you! I was trying to remember the name of a fried chicken eatery that was GREAT back in the 1960's, and Youngblood's was it. We went to the one on Mykawa, being from the Southeast side of town. Besides having killer pan-fried chicken, like your grandmother might have made (OK, so both of my grandmothers made better fried chicken, but they each had diners back during the Depression and were incredible cooks), they also had sensational onion rings. I'm getting hungry just remembering meals there. A big Bladerunner pat on the back for the memory.
Knotts Berry Farm Chicken Dinner Restaurant. At the theme park in Southern California. Very scrumptious. Chicken isnt greasy or dry. Generous portion sizes served just right.
