WHY? Do so many so called fans have a desire to move our start player-
    Kevin Martin ?
I can see them moving Chuck, Scola and Lowry before Martin!:p

If they include Charlotte's first round pick in next years draft as well as Asik and Gibson then we can start talking.

I like it, because it fills up our #1 hole, and leaves us with our two draft picks to fill the SF hole.

However, 1) I think maybe we can get more for Martin, and 2) this is supposed to be all about accumulating stars. Giving up Martin is going backward, as far as this goes.

I am confident we can get a decent SF at #14. I think there is a decent C that might slip to #23 (can't remember which). Can we fill the C need somehow? I know that DM will get us a center some day. I just don't think he's in any hurry to do so.

    You all overvalue Kevin Martin.

You do realize that both of these guys are prized prospects for Chicago. They'd be given up ALL of their frontcourt depth for Kevin Martin, this would be a trade that would make or break either team.

The Rockets would suddenly become a very big team and Lee could fill the SG spot...the Rockets would be very similar to the Nuggets in that they don't really have a glaring weakness and are a very deep team.

Also they'd be loaded with prospects with the acquisition of Gibson and Asik. Confused why anyone would just say flat out no to this.

There will definitely be some changes in the NBA's next CBA.

But somehow I just doubt CHI having the ability to absorb $12M of contract while sending the Rockets less than $3M is going to be part of the next CBA.

no but I would do Courtney Lee and Scola for Boozer and Korver or something of that nature. Boozer brings in the nasty physical post presence and rebounding we need with a little bit of scoring. Korver can come off the bench and do something nice every once in awhile.

Courtney Lee gives them their needing wing player at the 2 plus his chance to start for a contender. Scola gives them a nice consistent offensive weapon in the paint.

Does anybody think Deng can be had?? I wouldnt mind him at our 3 position.

You must be a huge Bulls fan and hate the Rockets.

-First there is no guarentee that Asik would come close to beating out Chuck Hayes for minutes. Any center the Rockets look at giving up quality players for in a trade, that should be the number one question to ask.... WILL THIS PLAYER BE ABLE TO BEAT OUT CHUCK FOR MINUTES? If there is even a question, they just say no.

-Taj Gibson is a quality PF, but not an upgrade from Pat Patterson at all. With Patterson/Hayes as the PF combo that the front office would want to go into the future with, I just dont see him fulfilling any need in the near future.

Please dont put Kevin Martin in a trade scenario that doesnt include an all-star caliber player in it, or a #1 pick in a draft that is littered with superstar talent. Martin might not be a superstar, but he is the next best thing.

The Bulls would never do that trade. They're a good organization that scouted extremely well and found diamonds in the rough with these two. They win because they're the one of the only teams in the NBA that always has elite interior defense on the court, despite their offense being so poor.

I'm guessing they go out and find a backup wing player who is instant offense off the bench, that could put them over the top.

This is not a full scale rebuild. This was a good team that would have been right in the thick of the playoffs in the Eastern conference. Rebuilding is probably not the term I would use, They are looking for elite talent, but they do not believe in tanking to get higher in the draft. So unless Kevin Martin gets you something higher in value in return, there is no way they make a deal.

Higher in value for Kevin Martin is basically a superstar in return or a #1 pick in a draft with superstar talent in it.

Also, I dont believe the Bulls will have to trade away any of their pieces in order to upgrade their scoring issue. There will be plenty of free agent wing players who can put the ball in the hoop and will desperately want to play alongside of DRose for this opportunity. Even if they have to take less to get this opportunity.

    Shannon Brown
    Michael Redd
    JR Smith
    Nick Young

all of these guys will be dieing to come to Chicago and fill it up and will be low risk contracts.

Yes. Martin's stock will never be higher than right now. Do it.

    Yes.

I say we should do this trade.

And only if the Charlotte pick is included.

We need to get rid of the vets we have now and get started on the rebuilding process as soon as possible.

Just the latest example of people taking Kevin Martin for granted.

Veterans? What veterans? We're already pretty young.

I guess you mean Scola, Hayes, Miller, and Old Man Martin.

As for the Charlotte pick, I suspect that's a non-starter from the Chicago side. I don't know how fast they'd pull the trigger on Taj and Omer.
