Hey guys. I know the Rockets did not win their first game, but I'm still behind them. I know they had a bad game and it's ok. We were without 4 important role players. But, I'm also wondering why don't we play Yao Ming more? He kinda looks dissapointed that he did not get to play much. About ESPN and their take. Well, I'll just say they seem to hate the Rockets and want them to lose. They don't give credit to where credit is due. No doubt the Rockets didn't play good tonight but they say Yao Ming got schooled? What they need to know is Yao Ming took a huge step in his life by coming over here to another country at his young age away from his girlfriend, family, and friends. That's got to be hard. Go Yao Ming, I'm behind you...... Go Rockets. Now, guys who really thinks the Rockets are bummed this year just cause they've lost one game?!

great posts! one game does not make a season. I hope Rudy does not use last night as an indicator for the next few.

Rockets will be 2-1 by Saturday night!

You think having Thomas, Taylor and Rice would have made a difference last night?

If they played, Steve would have scored 25 and those three would have about 20-30 combined more. We would have trounced them for sure!

This is a good post, I have to admit that i was dissapointed with our lack of execution but Like everyone says....its only 1 game. I do think in a game like last night that we should have given Yao all the minutes We could so that he could get use to the NBA. I mean cmon. He has been here a total of What? 10 days. I still think we need to go back to the Triangle offense and Make the point guard distribute the ball.

That game was against the Pacers...without Reggie. Bad game, yes. Bad start, yes. Bad omen, I hope not.

I'm not putting much stock into our first game, missing several players... We got like 80+ games to go...

I'm not the least bit worried. I know its going to take time for Yao to adjust and I know he will adjust. Must have patience.

The only part that scares me is that Yao will never adjust playing only 11 minutes a game. I would have liked to have seen at least 18-20.

I've supported this team my whole life, I'm not going to stop now.

I've avoided posting in all the negative threads so I'll post my thoughts here...

    Ming needs more mins

Shot selection needs to improve, and we need to pass the ball, but it will come around.

Rudy should say there are no shots until 3 or more people have touched the ball on the offensive end on every possesion.

    Go Rockets.

Right on ...nice to see some positive vibes in here..

I don't know why everyone expected a beat up team that only won 28 games last year to come out looking like world beaters.

If there was a lack of effort then I can see people being upset but some people are blowing it waaay out of proportion...It is just one game

It's gonna take some time to jell..give the guys a some games with a healthy squad and some time under Yao's belt and then lets see where we are.

Have to admit that last night's performance upset me, but I was optimistic before the season and still am. Just have to get the chemistry!

This one game will not be indicative of the rockets season. There are a lot of factors that affected this game. Not having KT, Taylor and Rice made what was our deep front court thin and Yao never really got into the flow at all. I think once Francis is back at the point the ball distribution will be better I dont think Moochie does a good job passing the ball.

What I DIDNT LIKE AT ALL is ESPN's coverage of the game. They were just dogging on Yao and miscontrued the facts. Also they were telling us what a great game Franchise had, so where were his highlights? All I saw of franchise was him going down hard on the missed dunk and Artest stealing the ball from him. The spots shadows of the people schooling Ming and how in "a span of 41 one seconds Erick Strickland went around Ming and then Jermaine O'Neal went over him." God I really hope the obvious bias of the station doesn't continue throughout the season. and I mean for any team not just the rockets, if you are going to present something on National TV you have to be objective because your audience can be Team A fans or Team A haters you dont know and its unprofessional to have an obvious bias. If its local tv, then its different your audience will be mainly the local teams fan and so a bias will help, but not if its a national program. I was thoroughly digusted at how ESPN treated the rockets, particularly Yao last night and I have a bad feeling that it will continue throughout the year.
    And I HATE DAVID ALDRIGE
