So you'd rather have your team lose instead of cheering along with those bandwagon fans/risk being associated with those bandwagon fans? I'd prefer my team to win no matter what. Also, just out of curiousity, how'd you become a Heat fan? You kinda hinted it was bc of wade, but just wondering...
So, why are you a heat fan? I am only a fan of the Rockets, and it's because I was born in Houston and have lived here most of my life. If I move to another city, I still would only be a fan of the Rockets. Now during the playoffs I might want one team to win over another, but I am really not a true fan of that team. I usually will pull for the underdog to win just for the fun oft it. So why are you a fan of the Heat, do you have a connection to the city?
Hey guys, I just started watching basketball last year and supported the Rockets. Am I a bandwagoner?
Question: Lebron is my favorite player ever i liked the cavs when he played for them and now that he plays for the heat i want them to win a championship because i want lebron to be a champion. Does that make me a bandwagon heat fan?
Why do you say that? What's wrong with following a team because you like a certain player (especially if you don't have a team in your immediate geographic area)?
It was bandwagon back then, but now I have a legitimate like for the Heat. It was when Wade got drafted, I followed him through the latter part of his senior year in college. Some of my family members live in Miami and I visit time to time. That's a fraction of a connection.
The problem sometimes (or most) is that a fan can tend overlook the team and the effort it gives just because that fan likes only a specific player. Let's say for me example, I have to admit i hopped on the Rockets because of Yao, because we are both Asian. But as time passed by I can't deny it that i came to love the team itself. And why? because of the reason that people and the good things they do can grow on to you. For every game that i watched Yao play, I was also watching his team mates. And it is inescapable to appreciate the fact that Yao was not the only one who was busting his ass to win. When I think of it that's the true nature of basketball, to appreciate what the team does and what not only one person achieves. For me even when Yao is gone or traded, i would still support the Rockets.
Am I a reverse bandwagoner? I used to only cheer for 2 teams. Houston and Miami. I grew up and lived for 25 years in Houston but when I was growing up during the summers I would fly to Miami to stay with my grandmothers and hang out with my cousins. I actually went to a Heat game before a Rockets game Rony Seikaly FTW. I would ALWAYS ALWAYS root for the Rockets over any team but if they were out I would go Heat #2. Ever since the big 3 I have distanced myself more and more from them because I don't like the unfair advantage of having 3 of the (arguably) top 15 players on the same team as well as a bunch of ring chasers who took pennies on the dollar to join the super-friends. Everyone loves an underdog including myself and Miami is the exact opposite of that. I want to see them fail and I hope they never win a ring.
lol whatever this coming from the guy whose life work is to make lebron hate treads. Your opinion holds no weight.........loser
I see what your saying, the thing is I already have a team, im from houston so I root for the rockets first, but I also like miami because of lebron, to be honest if lebron wasnt on the heat I wouldnt care about the heat. Kinda like I no longer care about the cavs. I have no connection to the cavs or the heat other than Lebron.
