I never really "got" Casey but at the end of the day I respect him and was somewhat sorry to see him go. I have to admit: that was a pretty badass exit.

Now I'm just glad that Carol King or whatever her name is 'week' is over with.

I've honestly never heard of her. Maybe I'm too young.

Haley is my choice still. She had a rough first song, but was given song of the night with the second song.

I think she is the only of the 5 that can actually be relevant. She has the look, voice, and confidence.

She is loopy as hell, but when she sings all that ding-battiness goes away.

But my fav. performance (and I can't believe I'm saying this) Jacob's Love Hurts.

James - I thought he wasn't very good on the 30 secs to mars song that they loved.. and then honestly I didn't feel the emotion as much as they wanted me to. And normally I do when it counts. Eh, not impressed

Jacob - First song, bad. Second song, really good. Very surprising.

Lauren - they loved her Carrie Underwood song, but it was straight karaoke. At least it was good. Unchained Melody was terrible in terms of her interpretation. She can sing well, but it sucked otherwise

Scotty - first song, good and at least slightly different from his normal. 2nd song pretty much right in his wheelhouse, and he did well on it also. Solid overall, no blowups though

Haley - first song, I thought pretty solid. Moreso than the judges for sure. 2nd one, demolished it. def agree with that being the best

    This week:

Haley, Scotty, Lauren, Jacob, James.. Jacob is going home even though he might have had the 2nd best performance of the night. I'd rather see James or Lauren go

And I definitely want it to be Haley and Scotty in the finals

James crying through his song seemed completely fake to me, even if it was authentic.

What's his name in the Hollywood rounds with the fiancé...THAT emotion felt real.

I do not like Jacob's voice or style at all...thought both songs sucked.

Not too sure on Haley's song choices but she still killed it. Wish the judges would have given her more props for trying something new instead of a song that's been overdone.

Would be nice to see Haley and Scotty in the finals.

    this week, combining both songs

    Lauren (2nd, 2nd)
    Haley (4th, 1st)
    James (1st, 3rd)
    Scotty (3rd, 4th)

Getting tired of Lauren and James, even when they do their thing right. Scotty somewhat too

Really Haley is the only one doing anything keeping me interested.

Those are my rankings, but I'm guessing Lauren and Haley will be the bottom 2 and Lauren will go home?

Agree on that. That second round was so awful for everyone except Haley.

Unlike Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, you won't find members of AC/DC on the panel of a singing contest: They're not exactly fans of the reality show route to success.

"There's only one way to do it," said lead vocalist Brian Johnson. "You get on the stage, you learn your trade and you get out and play in front of people. You serve your apprenticeship just like anybody else."

Johnson added: "The shortcut ways leads to tears at the end of the day. It's all hype. And it's not fair on the kids to make them famous one week and then nobodies the next. It's just not right."

As part of one of the biggest and most enduring bands in the world, Young and Johnson believe that early struggles got them to where they are today. Johnson said he started his singing career in British youth clubs in front of 30 people. And he took buses to get there.

I honestly don't know who's going home tomorrow. I'd like to see Durbin go but I doubt that will happen because the producers want an exciting finale with a lot of spectacle which I think he's the only one that can produce that.

I think Hayley's attitude might have hurt her tonight. she's the only one getting really mistreated as far as the critiques are concerned. The first song wasn't that great and she was growling/shouting her way through the chorus. The 2nd song was really good though and she did deserve that standing O.

I think Lauren had a "moment" with the first song but the 2nd one was awful!!! the girl needs more confidence, dress like a 16 yr old and lay off the spray tan.

James needs to stay on pitch.

Scotty is just really good at what he does. i dnt have much criticism except I;d like for him to get more emotionally connected with the songs. it's all about acting it out even if you;ve never lived it.

going home tomorrow: I;m going with Lauren.....but that's a huge guess.

I wish AC/DC would just STFU already. These are the same guys who won't release their music to iTunes because it's "going to kill music." They carry a rather inflated sense of self-importance regarding what they perceive as the preservation of the music industry. Times a-changin. I'm sure none of the kids will be complaining about their stints of fame.
