A few minutes ago on May 5, 2011, Arab TV announced that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameini requested Iran's President Ahmadinejad to step down from his post. This has not been confirmed nor verified by Western media as yet, however, it has been reported that several of his close aides are already under arrest. The UK Guardian reported today that many of Ahmadinejad's aides were accused of using 'supernatural powers', including invoking jinns (spirits) in an attempt to further the president's agenda against Khameini. This includes Irani Chief of Staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, The arrests come amid a growing rift between Ahmadinejad and Khamenei which has prompted several MPs to call for the president to be impeached. The Guardian 5/5/2011 Checking for the latest on Iranian website Ayandeh-Negar, an article posted therein declared that relations between Ayatollah Khameini and his 'son' Mahmoud Ahamadinejad had become deviant. This is the result of an unprecedented walk-out of 11 days by Ahamadinejad, as protest for Khameini having reinstated his intelligence chief, after Ahmadinejad had dismissed him.
Hey basso, I’ma let you finish about that crazy guy in Iran, but why you not comment about how serious Ryan’s budget plan is? That’s like the greatest basso thread OF ALL TIME!
So, it looks like Ahmadinejad invoked the Old School spirit and got blind sided. Or, perhaps he shouldn't have showed all his cards before screaming "Jinn!"
I don't know about the babelfish cut and paste. That was painful to read. But, this doesn't sound like good news at all. Ahmadinejad may not be the guy we want in charge, but the next guy is not going to be better if he's appointed by a guy who has arrested the cabinet on trumped up charges of witchcraft.

Apparently, Ahmenijahd is more moderate, but because of Iran's crazy government system, he can't make reform without receiving consent from the clergymen.
He's a holocaust denier, yes, but in terms of foreign relations with the West and social issues he's pretty moderate. Not that it's an excuse for ignorance, but Iranian schools teach the Holocaust doesn't happen, when you're taught something repeatedly from an early age, it's pretty hard to convince you otherwise.
I think there is definitely something to that and especially if it is true that Khameini resorted to these sort of charges to get rid of Ahmadinejad. It sounds like the supreme leader is just making a power play to install someone who is even more of a puppet and ideologically rigorous. On the other hand Ahmadinejad has been something of an embarrassment to the Iranians, with his bizarre rhetoric. The guy who replaces might still be an ideological hardliner but someone who isn't as mercurial and possibly more pragmatic.
