I just got one of those cheap TV tuners for the PC with video capture. Now I can watch the games and chat at the same time. ( I know rockHEAD will be so happy!) I'm still playing with it, and wanted to see what a few pics from the Orlando-Philly game would look like. Here's Grant Hill on the drive:
Yeah, these things are pretty cool. I like playing PS2 on my TV and watching TV on my computer. I've been working a little with video capture, but I just usually use the program for watching TV on the computer.
Look out... Bean Head's coming into the 21st century! I'll be recording games to my hard drive this year. One game in raw DV format is only 26 gigabytes... lol. Well, ok, so I'll be recording Ming's first regular-season game and saving it forever and ever. I plan on recording the rest of the games and saving only the highlights from the games, then making a dvd at the end of the year with the highlights. That way I have something to watch during the off-season. Not to mention 10-20 years from now I can go back and watch highlights of a season and say... yeah I remember when Francis was "turnover prone and people said he'd never lead the team to a championship... boy were they wrong!" Now I just need to hook up my dvd burner and test it out...
You should post things like that during the Rockets games. That little card of yours may make living outside Rocketville a little easier. (I'm not saying you should do it for every play, just a highlight or something)
It's a crappy ATI. Seriously, I only needed it to do a few mpegs from my camcorder to send to relatives, so I bought the cheapest I could find. I found it for $39. So far, it's working fine, although it did lock up once while switching from file playing to tv. But it did the job I needed it to do, so now I'm just playing with it to see what else I can do. Like I said earlier, I can join the chat room during games now.
Great. I have everything set up to record tomorrow and now Adobe Premiere is locking up on me when trying to acquire a video capture... Well, it was working yesterday... all I did was move the monitor.
Behad -- did the one you got come with something called the ATI Remote Wonder? If so, I'll buy that off of you . . .
Screw the graphic, get a tuner card. I think I have an extra one lying around that someone gave me when he upgraded his. If you lived around here, I'd just give it to ya because I really have no use for it.
That may be the same one I have. It was going crazy on me in Windows XP but wasn't too bad in Windows 2000. I want to purchase an Haupage (sp?), they are suppose to be really nice.
I have a cheap version of the Hauppage card. it works great. i think I paid around $50 for it last year.
I just got an ATI 9700 pro will that work? Do you still need the Digital Cable box as a tuner? Is there a program out there that emulates the DIgital box? Man, this would be awesome if I could watch and chat at the same time. DD
