ALIEN 1 Halloween 1 and 2 Nightmare on elmstreet 1 House on Haunted Hill the new version Event Horizon Texas Chainsaw Massacre( True Story) I Love Horror Movies and there have not been any Scary movie's made in a few years. All of these teen scary flicks are NOT scary. They may be good movies but diffently NOT scary. Blair Witch had to be the worst movie I have ever seen. People thought that was scary. The world has become Pussified
Not really. Basically, Tobe Hooper based Leatherface's apparel on Ed Gein's use of human skins to make dresses. There was never a group of teenagers who got chainsawed in Texas. But the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a great horror film. Channel 39 (which is now the WB) used to show it at least once a year, and would always play Edgar Winter's Frankenstein in the promos. Not anymore though - I guess the Charmed and Seventh Heaven demographic aren't into that kind of thing (although Jessica Biel is set to star in the TCM remake). I also like the following: Carrie Alien Night of the Living Dead Halloween Speaking of which, why is AMC the Halloween 4 & 5 network this month? Those movies suck a55.
As a kid, the Chucky movies were pretty scary to me. The bad thing was that I was babysat by a family that HAD a Chucky doll. That thing freaked me out. Always feared that it would take off and kill me. I think I sometimes tried to beat it up, but that didn't help me much. Now, I am embarrassed that I was scared by a doll. Exorcist and the Poltergeist movies were also movies that scared me when I was younger. Now, there aren't really any movies that scare me. Some of the newer movies lister here were pretty freaky, imo, but I was scared. Though I did have all the lights on when I watched them.
Halloween The Blair Witch Project (Flame away) Poltergeist I (The clown still haunts me ) (The old man in Poltergeist II was pretty scary, too) Nightmare on Elm Street I've never seen a Friday 13th movie, but I liked the series. Halloween is definitely my favorite, though. The sequels sucked because they strayed from the formula. You don't show Micheal Myers except in quick flashes, usually from far away. And for Pete's sake, play the theme music more often! Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without that awesome score! None of the sequels used it to it's potential.
I am the biggest p***y in the world when it comes to Horror Films. I have never watched anything remotely scary. The scariest thing I ever watched was Rear Window.
I agree with you about the old guy in poltergist, only character to ever really scare me, hes just freaking creepy. Now I know that the Exorcist scares some ppl but try watching it at a young age, and being raised catholic. and at night by yourself. I was scared to get off the couch. Im 22 now but i was like 10 then. You can laugh but i was freakin scared though.
The Blob(80's remake)- not so much a horror film, but it's plausibility scares the beejeezus out of me. The Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th series become comedy franchises after their third respective sequels or so. Can't think of anything that tops the first Halloween though...
I gotta agree with Event Horizon, Pet Cemetary, and The Omen. * My girlfriend rented this movie called," Strangeland". It's about some creepy Rocker/Bondage Lover dude that kidnaps people, takes them to his house, and ties them/pierces them in places that I'll let you imagine. I watched and I thought it was pretty creepy. But since I'm in Colorado right now, I have something planned for her this Halloween. The house that Strangeland was filmed at is in the downtown area of Colorado Springs, and I've talked to people who have gone there. It's an abandoned house, with 5 floors, hidden hallways, and no bathrooms. People say it's really creepy, and you have to climb through a window to get in. I'm gonna take her there after dinner. This Halloween will be a lot of fun!!!
Pet Sem. Poltergeist Original Evil Dead Pretty much any movie where there are little children doing something creepy or bad i.e. Pet Sem (evil kid killing people) Poltergeist (little kid seems to know whats going on while no one else does) that weird one where there's children that make people do stuff (there was a remake with "superman" in it...)
Village of the Damned Has anyone ever seen It's Alive (another horror film involving young children) or any of its sequels?
Ugh.. 'Final Destination' was dreadful. It's weird though, because it started off great. The first five or ten minutes when they were boarding the plane and stuff was really cool. Unfortunately, after the plane blew up, it swiftly degenerated into the lousiest piece of trash I have ever seen. I guess 'The Shining' was pretty scary, in particular the expression on the little boy's face while blood was rushing down the hallway. That was a pretty disturbing image to me. Fans of Star Trek:TNG will find 'Jeffrey' absolutely terrifying.
When you think about it, some of the scariest movies involve little kids doing their best to scare the $&!# out out of you. Pet Sem. - Freaky kid Exorcist - Very freaky kid Village of the Damned - A lot of very freaky kids The Shining - One terrified freaky little kid Poltergeist - Freaky little girl The Ring - One $#^* up little girl Elm Street - Teenagers getting sliced up Carrie - one really pissed off teenager The Others - 2 dead kids Rosemary's Baby - duh Childs play - yet another duh I think I'm afraid of kids more than axe murders at the moment
The Shining. for sure. I don't know if it was just because I was young, but "Candyman" really freaked me out alot. I don't think I wanted to be alone in a bathroom for a long long time haha
