For once I agree with a NY analysis.

CAN YAO MING GET STEVE FRANCIS AND THE REST OF THE HOUSTON ROCKETS INTO THE POSTSEASON?

Yes. In 2005. He is skilled, hungry and has better range than any center besides Duncan. But his physical limitations — he is simply too weak right now to bang with the game's bruisers — make it impossible for Yao to be a bona fide All-Star in his rookie season in the N.B.A. In three years, he will be among the league's most complete centers and a perennial postseason contender. It is merely a matter of whether Stevie Franchise and Cuttino Mobley can wait that long.

The NYT barely does sports at all. It's kind of like Collier writing on what its like to be beautiful.

Still, I bet they are oh so jealous we got the No. 1 pick. HeeHeeHee.

Ooops. I just saw the "yes"and not the "2005". NY Sports analysis blows.

Come on guys. Yao is not the magic wand. Things won't change overnight. This is going to be a collabrative effort for the team. Whether or not Cat & SF can wait that long is not an issue. Players come and go! But so far, the team as a whole is showing the willingness to improve and get better. And it seems as important as winning games.

I'm all in concert with this one, except for the 2005 remark. If we hadn't had so many injuries last year, we would have been in the post season. With the talent we have (provided healthy), give this team a little time to gel(and I don't mean a whole season) and we should definitely be in the post season this year!

If the Knicks can get into the postseason in 2005, the NYTimes beat writer might have to take his job seriously.

Ming's shot is a heck of a lot better then Duncan's. Ming shot 43% from behind the arc in China. Duncan might have a better shot inside, but outside, Ming has the best shot of any center. Lafrentz also has a better outside shot then Duncan. So does Pat Burke of the Magic. I saw him in the preseason and his shot is awesome.

I can't remember, but was it Duncuns rookie year they went to the finals? I hope that happens this year for the 'kets.

The only way that we will win it all is if Shaq and Kobe get injured, Webber and Peja are out for the season, and Duncan gets hurt for the season. Then we might have a shot. :D

It was his 2nd year. But his first year they made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs before losing to the #1 seeded Jazz.

At least it wasn't the NY Post, They would placed the Rockets behind Bin Laden but ahead of GW Bush.
