I love the Dyess man. One of the classiest players to ever do it. Played hard every single night. Was always "team first"... And I tell you what, He would be a first ballot hall of famer had he stayed healthy...

So sound a player that he had no problem adapting himself as a consummate role player. I didn't like seeing him play us because I knew he always brought it. Too bad for him, another deserving player who retires without a ring.

By far one of the greatest comebacks from major injuries and surgeries -- I never thought he would play again and he ended up playing for years.

I agree. The way he transformed himself from a young player that relied so much on athleticism to a post-injury veteran that could get by on skills and smarts was very impressive.

Maybe lots of the younger fans don't know of it, but Mcdyess was a franchise player at one point and a top PF.

Right before his injury, he was posting 20 pts, 10 reb and 2 blks. I remember trying so hard to draft him in fantasy basketball at one of my top slots.

    Awesome player, wish him well.

Impressive second half of his career.

Spurs take another step back with few avenues to revitalize their roster.

His comeback after the injuries was inspiring. Too bad he couldn't win a championship.

To the younger fans, McDyess had Hall of Fame potential. That's how talented and athletic he was.

He was one of my favorite players before he got injured. He still played pretty well after he came back. All in all he had a decent career.

I miss the young McDyess who played brilliantly with Kidd on the Suns. He was in his prime when he got injured.

Dice gave everything he had against us. Much respect for this guy. He was the toughest interior defender in this series and gave us a lot of trouble.

Damn he had some hops but I remember him when he first came out he was a stud but he was another victim of the knee injury but still had a good career after that

I rather have Mcdyess here than of course Bonner, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dyess will return in the middle of next season, for a playoff run, especially if Spurs pick up a true Center, to help that front line.

Have always liked him. Was hoping we'd get him when he went from Denver to the Suns, as well as when he went back to Denver. Barkley offered to come off the bench if McDyess came to Houston from the Suns. Good luck & much success to ya!
