With all the media coverage the Rockets will get this year with the addition of Yao Ming, which Rocket(s) do you see making it to the All Star Team?

Larry Smith is still our best rebounder.

Unfortunately, I think that only Steve will make it.

I think Yao will be the next Rocket to become an all-star, but it won't happen for a few years and only because there aren't really any true centers around anymore, with a few exceptions.

I would like to say that Eddie would be there soon; however, I think the west is far too stacked at the forward with duncan, garnett, Dirk, webber, marion, etc.

    Stevie Franchise - probably starter

Yao Ming - probable reserve, but then don't count China's vote out. If that were to happen, Shaq might demand a recount!

Eddie "Good" Griffin - on the bubble reserve, media attention will be there to see him swatting balls left and right.

Cuttino - sorry buddy, but I just think there are too many scorers on this team this year.

Steve should just about be a lock, imo. Yao could make if he plays really, really well. If Mobley steps it up, he may as well. Remember Wally SCAawejbfbjf made it last year. That's really all I see making the team.

I could actually see that happening. I actually hope it does but probably not for the same reason most of you guys do. I think having the fans vote for the starters in the All Star game is an absolute joke. Even though I think Yao Ming will be a great player in the future, and may even deserve to be starter on several futuer All Star teams he does not deserve to star for this years team over Shaq.

Having Yao voted in as the starter this year would just prove even more that the fans should not vote in the starters. That should be reserved for the coaches.

Francis will make it, and Ming might because who else other than Shaq is going to make it as a center? I guess Duncan could but he plays PF.

Can the Chinese vote? Isn't there like 500 billion people in China? Ming will make the all-star team.

Nope, Yao is not gonna make the all-star team. If you think the Chinese people can make a impact, as far as the voting goes, think again. I wonder why Wang zhizhi has never made to the all-star team.

I think Steve will have some competition...this time around....if Bibby comes back strong or Steve Nash does outstandingly well. So I think Rockets fan must pump in the votes...Don't take it for granted.

Yao, I think will ge the starter's numbers if NBA doesn't ban votes from China!! I think he will need to play very well to be a reserve. (Note Starters are voted in by fans, Reserves by the NBA coaches!!)

Eddie, will take a long, long time to get there, because he is is WC with helluva PFs - Garnett, Duncan, Sheed, Dirk.

LOL I like the spirit of your thoughts. I think worldwide we have 6 Billion humans......so getting 500 Billion from CHina would be a stretch (unless you could get some four legged friends to vote too!!)

I don't think Yao will start, but he has a chance to make reserve, unless they put Duncan, Dirk, and others at C. Vlade and Kandi are 2nd and 3rd and they aren't very good, imo. If Yao puts up, say 15ppg, 9rpg, 2.5bpg with 50-60FG%, he has a very good shot of making it as backup. And if Shaq can't play...hmm.

Steve and Yao will make it. :) It would be awesome if Ming was voted a starter.

You think that Cat has a better shot then Francis? Francis was voted as a starter last season, even though he was injured all the time. If he is healthy he will win by a large margain.

No it wouldn't, that is if he doesn't put up better stats than Shaq. I really don't know why people expect a huge impact from China. It boils down to interest, how many people are really going to vote? There are more people here on the internet, fans who go to games, and places of business where they have the ballots, yet very few people vote. I mean, how many votes did Carter get last year? Proabably less than 1 million and half. I'm sure that the total amount of voters for the NBA allstar game is somewhere around 5 million. I think it's safe to say there aren't 5 million people in China who are gonna closely follow the NBA and vote.

I know that Ming won't be as good as Shaq, but the All Star Game is bascially a popularity contest. It would be neat if he was voted the starter, even though Shaq is much better then him right now.

Shaq, Nowitski, Ming, Francis, Mobley, Garnett, Bryant, Webber, Duncan, Payton, Maurbary plus Malone equal this years western All-Stars.

Francis probably will make it but I don't think anyone else will.
