I didn't know there was chance to get him. If there is, obviously let's try. Maybe Hakeem, who I think changed Howard's career this past summer, will try and talk him into coming to houston. Even if we could get Marc Gasol, that would be incredibly huge. rcketsfan1
Why the hell is Yao Ming included in these deals, makes absolutely no sense. Why would Yao agree to a sign and trade to Orlando, who is now beginning to blow it up and rebuild. He would rather retire and avoid further injuries if he's going to end up playing for nothing. Why the hell would Orlando, a rebuilding team, take a 30 year center who hasn't had a healthy season for 2 years and will probably have a 3 year contract.
People are going to hate me for this but, I'd rather have Andrew Bynum that Dwight Howard. Why? Is it me or does Andrew not have a way better offensive game? Is it me or will Dwight Howard's 6'10" frame get tired from jumping and he becomes almost a none factor defensively? I think you swap Bynum and Howard and you see Dwight Defensive stats drop due to the fact that he has to share space with Gasol. He is hyped up the way Melo is but would probably be a chump with diminished stats on a contending team.
You let Dwight play against a guy taller than 6'11 and watch how he can't put the ball in the bucket and reverberate back to only scoring on putbacks and fast breaks. It should be no secrete this guy struggles against legit bigs where as Bynum doesn't
Hey it makes sense. He's certainly not going back to Orlando. It doesn't make sense for him to sign with an EC team with Miami, Chicago, and New York holding the way. (Although maybe NJ, but Nooooooa) San Antonio and LA are aging. He can't be the man in OKC. Houston makes once hell of a lot of sense!! Houston would instantly win 20 more games with the same squad we had this year plus Howard. You'd think Olajuwon would have some pull. It MAKES SENSE.
The centerpiece to bring him in should be Scola. We can part with Brad Miller, Hasheem, Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, but that's about it. They can have Scola and that package. But it's not going to be much of a team if we offer them more than that.
Funny thread. Because no one even wanted to take Yao before the trade deadline and the proposal was for the best center in the league. Nice logic...
Rumor has it that we would be very interested in SVG if he were to become available. However if rumors of Dwight wanting to leave Orlando are true, and he sees SVG as part of the problem there, then it could kill any chance of luring him here.
You have a few dumb posts in this thread and this one really stands out as the dumbest. The only legit big that could stop D Howard in the past was Yao Ming. And how did Bynum fare against Yao? I seriously doubt he has done a better job than D Howard. If you want to argue against bringing D Howard to Houston, you should try to think of a better reason than this one. Andrew Bynum > Dwight Howard??? ROFL.
