    Hello to all,

I have been here for a while, summer of '98 on the old board, and I have noticed a growing number of College Stationites here. At first, it was just a few, like Rocketteen and I. But ever since the registration boom, I've noticed many many more.

Being a Rocket fan in College Station is relatively difficult, especially now because road games are on crap channel 51 Houston. I'm going to attend around a dozen home games. The rest I can watch on Fox Southwest channel 25 Cox Cable.

I know Austin and now Dallas have Rocketball Associations. I don't know if I necessarily want to start something like this. But it could be nice to get a bunch of die-hard Rockets fans together and watch a game here.

Please respond to this thread if you are interested in watching Rockets games in College Station in a group. Other things you can add are where you'd like to go or if you would want to meet at a home/apartment or at a bar.

I live at Melrose, near the McDonald's on George Bush and Wellborn. I have a crappy 20" or so TV, but a decent surround sound. I may be able to get my hands on a projector, which would make it a 80" screen. My place is pretty cool. We could have snacks and if people pitch in, I'll get drinks.

The only decent sports bars in town are Fox and Hound, which is underage friendly. They have big screens on the upper level where you can play pool too. The only problem is I only see Mavs games whenever I'm there. I don't know if they do Rockets games. There's also Billiard Barn in Bryan (which makes it kind of far) and Poets (which is a little to smokey for a lot of people).

Also, if anyone has Direct TV Leage Pass, it would be ideal to have gatherings at your place for Rockets road games. I would pitch in some money anytime I came.

So these are just some suggestions. If there is enough interest, I'd think it'd be a really fun thing to do.

Hey Kim, great idea. If you're looking for a die-hard Rockets fan to watch the game with, look on further. I just called Fox & Hound, and they said they should be showing the Rockets games. They pretty much show all games, using their satellites. Im not sure residents here in C.S. can get games unless they have the League Pass. I don't have it, but for nationally televised games, I have a 61" bigscreen and ice cold beer. So hit me up if you like on here first, I check this often, just don't want to give out my phone number online. Opening night tomorrow, and Im looking for some fans myself to watch it with.

Class of '05 Aggie here. I think this is a great Idea. I am only 19 years old and have never been to fox and hound. How underage friendly are they? I know there are a couple of bars in town that you have to be 21 years old to get in. Is this one of them? Anyways, if that is a problem than I will be more than happy be a part of any other things yall do as a rockets fan group. Let me know.

I'm in College Station. I don't have lots of time on my hands with school and all but I will be able to watch many. Fox and Hound is great. I like it.

Well I will be there by 7:00 at the latest. I may have something i can't get out of before, but regardless, I will be at Fox & Hound for opening night. I'm pretty sure they will let underage in. We'll find a way to identify each other there.

Okay okay. Dttd888, are you sure that Fox and Hound has League Pass? And they'll be showing Rockets games?

In that case, I'll be there between 7:00pm and 7:30pm.

To identify me, click my profile button and then click on my yahoo photos online album.

I'll be playing pool or something.

    So who else is in?

I didn't get a definite answer. I asked to talk to one of the managers, they weren't availalbe. If they don't have League Pass, their satellites will probably work. Call them and ask them; see if you get a different response. The more we bug them, the more action they'll take. Tell them how many people are from Houston in C.S.

Well well well, good to see some other Aggie Rocketfans out there. Like Kim, I too live in Melrose, we should get together sometime. I have a 60" something inch big screen with a surround sound, but I have 3 other roomies and hopefully they wouldn't mind...I don't think they would mind, but we'll see. The problem is that I thought only a few of the games come on Fox SW...like 20 or so. The rest you would need TV 51 in Houston or Direct TV. I might be ignorant, to this, so correct me if I'm wrong. If apartments aren't cool then I wouldn't mind going to Fox, I've just never been there. I know I know, I just always go to Northgate instead. Anyways, count me in for whatever the majority decides.

    What's up Rocketteen,

Are you going tomorrow for the opener? Fox and Hound just told me that they ARE showing the game.

Also, do not play cards with Joey and his buds unless you want to lose money. I am an amateur and got raked pretty bad the first time I played a few days ago.

I had no idea you lived in Melrose. Pretty cool.

Good call on this. Fox and Hound usually doesn't have anyone at the door, so if you're underage, don't worry about it. it could be crowded, nonetheless, so I suggest getting there a bit early just to be safe. I know what ya'll mean. I'm from Houston, and it's been hard the past few years not getting able to see my Rox night in and night out. I live over at Meadows Point Apts (the old College Park Treehouse), off of Holleman and Marion Pugh. I was thinking about getting league pass, but not so sure if I'd get any school work done if I did. Anywho, I loke the idea of getting together to watch some games. If I make it up tomorrow night I'll look for some of ya'll! -late-

Hey. I'm brand new to this board, and I think this is a great place for me to start. I live in College Station and would love to watch Rockets games as a group. Unfortunately, I got an exam tomorrow, and will most likely miss the season opener. However, for the most part, I should be good.

Does anyone know if Fox & Hound has any drink specials on Wednesday nights???? If not, when does happy hour end????
Also, is it usually crowded at 7:00 or so???? It might be more crowded than usual now, but it shouldn't be too bad. I'll see ya'll there tomorrow.

My exam is at 6 PM, which is during the season opener. Otherwise, I would definitely be at Fox & Hound chillin after the exam.

okay, this will be my final post in this thread before i let it die. At least myself and my roomate will be at Fox and Hound around 7:30 tonight for the Rockets season opener. I'll be wearing my old school "I love this team!" Rockets T-shirt. I'll also be kicking my roomate's ass at the pool tables. Check my pictures from my yahoo web album if you still need help finding me. Feel free to come up and say hi. And the place is underage friendly because it's more of like a chilli's than like a bar.
